sadlerdawg, thanks for the bump.
Not trying to be ugly. You, I and others know that we have been through this coaching change "thingy" more than once. Gets real frustrating every time there is a coaching change, Georgia is back on the map again when reading different blogs.
As growl said in this thread . . . . "show me". Because we bring up "things" that we have seen before does not mean that we are not serious backers of the "Athens Project". It has turned out to be just that, a project since the 1940's, one title since then, Herschel and his group. Maybe there is something wrong with the "project".
In my opinion, it is not fair to us that one hire each year or ever so often and the program is ready to compete for the National Championship. Quite frankly, too many in my opinion are ready for a "quick fix".
Truth be told . . . . mark richt needed Jeremy Pruitt, a lot more than Jeremy Pruitt needed mark richt. Pruitt has been around some head coaches that understand how to move a program forward, (High School through National Champions x 2) not like we have been . . . . on a roller coaster. Everything that is being said here is out there for anyone that "really cares" about moving forward . . . . not just feeling good. I said that.
Yes I do understand that mark richt was with a National Championship team (FSU). How has that aided him in the past 13 years? How has that helped the University of Georgia in the past 13 years? If a different head coach had spent 13 years in Athens, would we have produced more? What if? What happened in Tuscaloosa and Tallahassee in far fewer years? Again, JMO.
