Buc, Could not agree more.
I would say even coaches like Saban will open up their offensive playbook.
Like it or not, offenses must evolve in this offense friendly environment created by the money driven powers that be.
It is a conscious decision to make the product more entertaining for the low information, novice fan.
Give me a defensive slugfest any day.
It's not going to happen because the networks want offense.
The officials are going to protect the NCAA/MONEY/ENTERTAINMENT monopoly.

Offenses do sometimes need to evolve. It's a fine line sometimes with that and "don't fix what 'aint broke".

You don't change just for changes sake, but you change to offset the defenses figuring out how to stop what
you did yesterday..... and you also change to fit the personnel that you have so that the best players are the ones on the field, and your scheme fully utilizes their skills.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Personally I have always loved the pro set style of offense. Imo, other than getting more depth in the OL, I have zero problem with our production on that side of the ball.

Believe it is fair to say that the offense wasn't our main problem last year.

Hoping some are not missing the point I have tried to make.

Why do we go after a quarterback like Faton Bauta, especially if our offensive coaches don't feel he can fit "their pro style system". Maybe not a mystery to some, sure as hell makes folks like me wonder.

Does anyone on this board think that Bauta can not throw a football? I would wager this bet with anyone here . . . . Faton Bauta can throw a football 20 yards or more further than Hutson Mason. So if you agree with the last statement, we are not talking about "arm strength". If you disagree with the last statement, put your money on the table, I win, you lose. Would cover that bet every day of the week.

Where does it say that Faton Bauta cannot run a pro style offense? See where Brice Ramsey is being crowned the "future" at UGA. What offense was it than Ramsey ran in high school? Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Are we saying that Bauta is less of a talent than Ramsey?

It is one thing to like a particular offense, it is quite another when we have coaches that choose from high schools that don't run their particular schemes. AM quarterbacked in a pro style offense, maybe that gave him a jump on his future at UGA. That and the fact that AM has always been a deep individual. Ask AM who is spending time in the film room and locks the doors. Faton Bauta.

I get do damn tired of the media BS, and even more riled up when I read certain posts that sound exactly like the "media BS".

Once upon a time, every college in the nation worked from a single wing offensive formation. Auburn is doing some of that now, if anyone cares to look at film on youtube or hudl or other places, might get away from the media "stuff". There are some here that post that will change their minds each season. There are some here that won't.

One very simple question . . . .
Throughout richt's tenure, what has he proven going into 2014? You like mark richt, you got him. You like mark richt's pro style offense, give me this . . . . set a date for a National Championship under his program. Want to mention how many college coaches have not yet attained that goal, ask yourself this question. Have they had the amount of talent on their football teams that mark richt has had on his for over 13 years? Apples and oranges folks, not difficult.

The link that I forgot to post this morning prior to my visit to the VA. Some things more important that mark richt as a head D1 football coach. I said that.

You understand, have always known that averagedawg, as does sadlerdawg. Sometimes those that think they know, are "blinded" by the "truth".

Remember this Wartdawg . . . . our offense has not changed under mark richt. Yesterday, Steve Spurrier and the better coaches live off of the mark richt way of doing things yesterday, year after year. Have you seen any noticeable changes in our offense in the time mark richt has been here?

This particular portion of your post stuck out "to me".

Yes, I read the rest of the sentence. Will add this. mark richt is the person that is responsible for who does and does not play football between the Hedges.
