But TG wasn't one of those. You've just added one more recruiter who will be tenacious in the closing period.

Buc, I don't know how this can be Showtime for Pruitt after fitting himself for 3 natty rings. Jimbo was the OC at FSU also, meaning Pruitt was in 100% control of the defense. Yes, AU ran on them, but relatively speaking: AU had their lowest rushing output of the year against FSU (if we had done that, we would have won that game); also, compare 3 like opponents:
Clemson (14 on FSU)
AU 35 on FSU (2 of those drives for AU started INSIDE FSU's own 27 yardline)
UF 7 on FSU
Regardless of how I feel about CMR, this IS a step up.

ogre, I want CMR gone. But the issue before us NOW is: is JP an upgrade. Yes he is. He is more than a recruiter.
1. FSU actually tackled people who ran crossing patterns. On plays wide, the CB's didn't miss often.
2. 12 points per game is 12 points per game. Compare what they did against Clemson, AU, Florida---then compare the numbers against what we did.
There are 2 issues here.
1. Should CMR stay? NO
2. Can JP be a good enough DC to get us to a titile game? Of course he can-he already has proven that (the only assistant coach on staff who can say that).
We have many issues on this team, but JP wouldn't be in the top 5 of those concerns. In no order, here are my top 5 concerns:
1. Do those above CMR want to win it all, or be solid.
2. Special Teams coach
3. Will CMR adapt to a changing game.
4. What about strength and conditioning.
We are fine with our OC and DC (the numbers don't lie)

You're in the 90 percentile (probably 99%).
With you....while I also wanted KS etc, I do like the hire and am willing to wait and see what happens. Btw, I believe Pruitt did win Recruiter of the Year award 2 years in a row (2011-12), didn't he?
Hired as a DC but will take any bonus we can get.

Wlayton, I would not walk away from $3MM a year without a gun to my head.

Players make the numbers. Just watch the numbers this year on the O side of the ball without AM.
Not going to crow how good of a hire this is because now I demand proof on the field say over a 2 to 3 year span.
IF we win the SEC and IF we make it into the final 4 THEN I MAY change my outlook and opinions...
All I have ever asked is UGA compete for a NC. We over the last 5 years have done that only 1 time...and even that one was suspect by the sheeples shouting we were 5 yards away after Alabama thourghly beat us on the field

The whole money thing not going to touch. Guessing different people have different thoughts. I don't have much money at all. My father owned a local hardware store, mom and pop style, Lowe's opened 2 miles down the road, only to be followed by Home Depot opening less than a mile away. Store was closed, Dad agreed to pay all his collectors, and 10 years later he is still paying. He works 2 jobs, and my mother does as well. Needless to say, I wouldn't walk away from 3 million a year if I knew I was doing all I could. Is CMR putting forth max effort? I don't know. Easy for me to say no because we aren't winning, but have also seen people tank because they are pressing to hard. He did deserve to be fired. Opinion hasn't changed on that. Doesn't mean I can't be happy with the hire we made.
I guess I am just surprised that the CMR slander has risen. Never for a minute did I expect for him not to be on the sidelines next year. Don't really know why anybody truly believed he was leaving. He would have stepped down, or been left go right after the Nebraska game. Seems like some truly believed he was being let go this late. Should he have been. That's a different story.
Being excited about JP has nothing to do with CMR. It has to do with Georgia Football.
