Money ain't every thing.

You said something very key there averagedawg...
"ill equipped to do".

That implies recognition that you are ill equipped for the job. If you thought you were very well equipped and doing fine, then I doubt you decide to walk away.

Especially when you also consider the boss also thinks you're well equipped and doing fine.

Anyone here think that MR thinks he is ill equipped to finish the drill?

Don't really think it's about the money with Richt.
I think he truly believes it's God's calling that he minister as head coach at Georgia.
If he wins, if he loses, well it's all up to the Lord.
Not going to discuss religion here but from his words and testaments, that's who he is.
Richt could win it all or win 4 games in a season but I don't think he leaves voluntarily.
And clearly, as of yet, nobody's showing him the door.

WD, first, my answer is no.

I think that most coaches/athletes (or on "main street") that have had some degree of success all think they can get the job done. They may be wrong but most competitive people feel they can still do the job....only natural imo.

CMR probably feels he can still do the job....heck CTG probably thinks he can as well.

Would venture to say that everyone on this forum believes they can get their jobs done better than anyone else.....

AllDawgs5 wrote: The whole money thing not going to touch. Guessing different people have different thoughts. I don't have much money at all. My father owned a local hardware store, mom and pop style, Lowe's opened 2 miles down the road, only to be followed by Home Depot opening less than a mile away. Store was closed, Dad agreed to pay all his collectors, and 10 years later he is still paying. He works 2 jobs, and my mother does as well. Needless to say, I wouldn't walk away from 3 million a year if I knew I was doing all I could. Is CMR putting forth max effort? I don't know. Easy for me to say no because we aren't winning, but have also seen people tank because they are pressing to hard. He did deserve to be fired. Opinion hasn't changed on that. Doesn't mean I can't be happy with the hire we made.

I guess I am just surprised that the CMR slander has risen. Never for a minute did I expect for him not to be on the sidelines next year. Don't really know why anybody truly believed he was leaving. He would have stepped down, or been left go right after the Nebraska game. Seems like some truly believed he was being let go this late. Should he have been. That's a different story.

Being excited about JP has nothing to do with CMR. It has to do with Georgia Football.

GO DAWGS

I feel for your dad, but what a great role model.

Average, I appreciate that and like many here I am sure, very lucky to have the Dad that I do. Very close with my Dad, and can remember cleaning out the store. Very stressful time, but I also see my Dad now, and would never know anything happened. Almost like a blessing to have the stress lifted off of him. Very lucky to have the mother I do as well.

Sorry for dropping personal stuff out there guys, but I do have one more favor to ask. I have a buddy who was killed yesterday while serving our great country. He was a Green Beret. All we know at this point is he was killed while on night patrol. He has been all over so not exactly sure where he was stationed. Him and his wife just had a child in September. Please remember them in your thoughts and prayers as well as the many others serving our country.
