Going to be interesting to see how the Tennessee/Auburn game turns out. Tennessee gave us fits. Believe that Jones will have his players primed for this one.

If the AU team shows up that I just watch put 55 on UT, Dawgs will come home from the plains with their tails between their legs. Just sayin.

Marshall had 214, Mason had 117. Only threw the ball 7 times which is good for our DBs. We must stop the run.

Auburn wants the game against us as badly as we wanted a win over Florida.

TN Dawg, posted some thoughts in ogredawg's game day thread along the same lines you posted here.

Say what I said in the other thread . . . . amazing what a coaching change can do to turn a team around. Same players for Auburn that did not win a SEC game last season (2012).

Grantham is all about telling young folks like #59 how he will make their chances of making the NFL easier. Appears to me that Ray Drew is the man, man with his hand in the dirt making sacks. Mark Richt recruited Ray Drew, not Todd Grantham. What a story that is . . . . Sorry, Todd Grantham is on his last leg. Defensive backs that are playing 10 to 15 yards off of the receiver(s). Not one receiver, ALL receivers. We can rest assured that Grantham will have something to say about only 6 points given up.

Going to watch Alabama/LSU tonight, bet here is that we will see some DEFENSE.

Kirby Smart, crying shame that we will not allow you to return to Athens.

Look at USC Trojans this season with Kiffin and since. Not perfect but a totally different team. Same players, sames assistants. Tell me head coaches personalities and attitudes are not reflected on the field come game day. they all know Oregron (sp) won't be there next year but they are leaving nothing on the field for him and playing pretty dang good football right now.

We need coaches like that.

Some are wise and some are otherwise !

36869, I truly believe that too many head coaches get settled in it is hard to move them. Think in our case, when VD left, his choices to replace himself were not wise moves.

Have said more than once on this board that Erk not taking the helm made no damn sense. Takes me to what you said about coaching changes, and the names you mention. Kiffin, "flash in the pan". Sold that snake oil to more than one group.

Amazing how Erk moved to Middle Georgia and "started" a football program and the results speak for themselves.

Know that there are many VD supporters on this board and others, but when we look closely, VD spent many years in Athens and came away with one national championship. Believe we are seeing history repeating itself with Mark Richt. Think many need to drop the opening line that goes something like this . . . . Mark Richt is a good man. That has not put the Crystal in Athens, nor in my way of thinking will it ever.

I watched a couple of calls today that were really questionable. Watched Richt's reactions . . . . sorry, reminds me again of Bobby Bowden. By the way, Bobby Bowden is also a good man. Bobby Bowden was also a very good recruiter early on, was very effective in living room conversations.

Sorry, been around football long enough to realize that we are not getting enough bang for the buck(s).

What happened on the Plains to turn a losing team into a winner? Change that I saw was a head coaching change.

Again, what Vanderbilt did to us cannot be smoothed over. Not for me anyway, and I can only speak for myself.

On top of that, Todd Grantham has yet to prove a dang thing to me. Keeps moving around . . . . why is that? Answer is there somewhere. He was given full control of the defense, and get this, Willie Martinez had the same deal.

We find out a lot next Saturday, regardless of the score today, was not impressed with some of Grantham's calls. If we are not capable of playing man better than we are now, going to be a long night.

Tired of the many years of us bouncing around, settling for no more than our coaching staff demands. Demand might be a word that is foreign to use. I did see AM demand today.

Stop with this. Will AM have to bail Grantham out again?

Todd Grantham said:
"It's going to be a challenge, I don't know about fun. As coaches you always like challenges,” Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham said. “They're believing and they're playing with confidence right now. Their personnel probably fits better what they do now relative to what they did last year. And I think that's a good example of how it's important to get the right people in your system.”

And I think that's a good example of how it's important to get the right people in your system.

How many years does that take Grantham? Think you have the right people, believe excuses will catch up with you at some point.

Grantham coach speak, called job protection below.
“The bottom line is once we got through the script, so to speak, of those gadget [plays] and kind of got a feel for how they were running their routes relative to the formations, we pretty much shut them down -- and we didn't give up a touchdown before we did it,” Grantham said. “So anytime you hold a team out of the end zone, I'm going to be happy.”

Appalachian State Grantham, sure hope playing them will have you ready for the "gadget plays" that Gus Malzahn will come forward with, and by the way, much better personnel.

Chris Wilson, appears that you are the one coach on the defensive side that has gotten through to your players. Guess we will see how our defensive coordinator "handles" another "gadget" team with "playmakers".

Kirby Smart seems to understand "gadget plays" along with how college football is played in the SEC. Just saying.
