Early Georgia -- Auburn Thoughts

Buc,

I attended the Auburn vs. Miss St. game much earlier this year (Week 3 I believe, UGA's 1st BYE week) at Jordan-Hare because I married an Auburn alum last August & you know, she goes to about 3 or 4 UGA home games each year w/me so I figure I'd return the favor. Besides, it's not like it's real difficult to score some easy brownie points with the Miss by going to a SEC football game where I can actually relax & enjoy the competition since I didn't have a DAWG in the fight.

Anyways, when I watched Auburn play LIVE in early Sept. I thought to myself, no problem, we will crush these guys come November...and I really felt confident in my belief having watched in person, our amazing offense light-up USC's D just 1 week before.

Fast forward 2 months later, I watch Auburn pretty often (thanks to my wife) & they have literally gotten better each week (amazing what GOOD coaching will do huh) while our Dawgs, (MAINLY due to injuries on offense) have actually gotten worse.

If I had to call it today, my heart says Georgia STILL has the better talent & should win ANOTHER close game in a high-scoring affair BUT my head is telling me, Auburn has superior coaching, Auburn has home field advantage, & Auburn wants it more than UGA (we spanked em' good in 2011 & 2012) so UGA is going to lose a close, heart-breaking game.

Probably didn't answer your question clearly enough but I feel certain this will be another instant classic in the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry (by far, my favorite of all the UGA rivalries).

Lastly, I wouldn't touch betting this game w/a 10 ft. pole because I think it is going to come down to 1 big play, 1 funny bounce, 1 special teams blunder, or 1 bad call (probably again us).

yankeedawg1, allow me this.

Auburn has turned their program around, might surprise some, but Auburn has been a "huge" part of SEC Football over more years than most can count. Like them or not, there is a history of SEC Football on the Plains. There might be one or two on this board that can remember Georgia/Auburn Football in Columbus, Georgia. A neutral site, Memorial Stadium.

Over the years, have watched many young men play hard nosed football, really want to see what this particular Georgia/Auburn game has to offer.

Don't take this wrong folks, really want to see what a "coaching change" has meant to a team that got their butts kicked in the 2012 Season, on their turf by the Georgia Bulldogs. Is that not a fair post?

Have to say this . . . . Iron Bowl does not mean a damn thing to me. What matters to me is Georgia/Auburn on the Plains, weekend after next. Said this earlier, if we cannot win this weekend against AState, then what the heck.

Offensive and Defensive coaches say that starters will start.

12 O'clock game, might want to look into the stands and see why Mickey and Minnie want to take over the SEC. ESPN3 if you are not blacked out, will show you just how much they have moved "forward".

Folks, it is no different than everyday life. You get what we want you to have. You feel that I am wrong, no doubt in my mind that you have a plan. I love productive plans. Producing is why Buc was able to retire. Should that not be the same for Head Football Coaches? Guess I should not ask that question, most grow "silent" on this board and others.

kentdaddy . . . . Best laid plans of . . . . ?

Are we ready to beat Auburn on their turf. Many view this site, what say you before the game is played?

Couple of things...

This series... not sure home field means a lot. I mean it always does mean something, but we've won a lot there and they've won a fair share in Athens.

As far as the game goes... My heart says yes....

and my head says yes as well.

but with all UGA games.... depends on which coaching staff shows up

God Bless and Go Dawgs

If talent is the deciding factor, we win.
If it comes down to a coaching duel, we're through.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
