Wartdawg, don't have to take my word, but it is on the up and up. Did not understand you comment as to why Charlie Strong would do the NFL thingy, maybe you could explain that to me.

When Strong left Florida, there were two teams in the NFL that would have hired him. The two teams that were mentioned were not mentioned by name, that is as you know the . . . . . "NFL Way".

There are other coaches out there that have been mentioned on this board, some were mentioned by some of the "regular posters" after the Boise State game.

My choice would be Charlie Strong.

I am going to answer your question on race. Yes, there is race involved throughout college football, not just Florida. Hope that is enough, can go a greater distance if desired.

I've seen Strong's name thrown around as a guy that will receive offers from the NFL. I saw where he said he's never considered the NFL, but I don't know enough about him to know if he wouldn't make the jump if offered.

I know race is often involved... I just didn't know if there was something more that happened at UF beyond that
possibility.

Wartdawg, offer me enough jack, I will forget the ailments and run a 10K. All of us like to think we are above it all, we are not, none of us. If the right deal is put in front of us, all of us would make the JUMP. Mark Richt did and still does.

I 100% agree w/you about everything you said about Charlie Strong & he is undoubtedly my #1 or #1A choice IF we were looking for a new Head Coach (Kirby being the only other I would want in Athens as much as Strong & obviously, Strong has already proven himself as the top dog while Kirby has not). Anyways, not sure if CCS desires to be in the NFL or not though? If not, I think he would leave Louisville for Athens quicker than the ink could dry on his contract. No doubt, he could recruit the BEST of the BEST & I don't mean top 5 class every year, I mean top 2 or 3 & yes I do feel confident that his race only HELPS him recruit today's high school blue chippers. There I go just echoing Buc again but I feel he is pretty "spot-on" in his assessment of what CCS would do for UGA recruiting.

Anyways, doesn't hurt to dream but I stand by my earlier post...I really don't foresee CMR going anywhere YET, but I do think we will be looking for a new DC very soon. As for who to get as DC at UGA: my top 3 choices (in order) are already employed by rival schools in Auburn, Blacksburg, & Baton Rouge & 2 of 3 told us NO THANKS last time...Kirby, again ain't coming for the DC job or he would be on my wish list too.

Who yall like for a DC? I say go try to steal Ellis Johnson away from Auburn, Lord knows they've stolen enough from us over the years!
