Man it is so good to read football talk on this board again.

Some are wise and some are otherwise !

36869, many of us were here, sometimes (I) wish for better things.

Listened to Mark Richt's comments in his video again today. Third time or so, I am going out on a limb.

Think that Grantham is finished when this season is over. Why do I say or (guess that)? Looking over some of the recruitng tables and who is involved. There is an answer there. Others are too involved to believe that recruiting young men is on TG's shoulders alone. In some areas it is called "CYA". High time those in Athens responsible for the "money making sport" took note.

Georgia/LSU. Sanford Stadium was rocking, get the right folks involved and that will not be a "one time thingy". Other folks, not for me to decide, but I can watch and show up on this board and maybe others and speak to what I see. Not like Grantham/Lakatos, not available for interview. SUCKS. Problems are far deeper than players out of position. Players can show up for interviews, videos and whatever. Coaches? AWOL.

Buc was totally WRONG about Todd Grantham, was not the first time, hope it is the last one for someone my age. Damn right I love the University of Georgia. Wonder if Todd Grantham cares as much about UGA as I do? Don't let the damn door hit you in the butt.

I said that, took me four years, but I said it with a :) on my face. First time, shame on you, second time, shame on me. Get my drift?

Still having a hard time getting serious football talent within the State of Georgia. That same talent that we were told by Todd Grantham that was going to take us to the National Championship. The five hour thingy. Missing serious talent less than 100 miles away, crossing the Chattahoochee to win National Championships. Time is up. Don't want to hear any more about where "you think you are" when it comes to football. It is about "team" not "I, Me, My". If I missed anything, will come back later and bring it up to date.

I'm glad you brought this up. In my opinion, I still think there is an internal struggle between Grantham and Richt. Ever since Richt pulled back the leash on Grantham, Grantham is pulling back his ability to coach our defense which in turn, is making Richt look bad. Grantham is the type of coach that doesn't take wearing a leash at all, let alone being pulled back from it. It's why Richt presents a disconnect with the defense and a boost in priority in offense and most importantly, Murray. The relationship that Murray and Richt have this season reminds me closely of Tebow and Coach Meyer.

Rdawg, speaking about the relationship between Richt and AM. Would include Bobo in that, guess I can say threesome here . . . .

One thing that our leader on the field for the offense can do, and does . . . . understands the plays, (every position) and can change the plays and still get the message across.

Easy to see where I am going with that statement. Just who is it that calls the formations for the defense? Herrera or Wilson? Are they calling the plays for the front seven and one of the defensive backs is responsible for the other four? Think we all know who is calling the plays for the defense on the sideline, so why the confusion . . . . If I were around and asking questions, one thing is for sure, Grantham chewing gum would not detract me from calling his hand.

Ever notice when Saban holds a press conference that he rules the floor. Has a way of making shrinking violets out of the press? He can get away with that, has the Crystal lined up that is hard to argue with.

Grantham worked for Saban, he has mentioned that. He tries to intimidate the beat writers when they hit a nerve. Grantham ain't no Saban. Would classify him closer to Willie Martinez, at this point, not sure which one of the two is rated higher. Also never thought I would say that . . . . Willie did not belong, surely any replacement would be an improvement. Well??

Grantham's famous last words. Next man up. What about next coach up?

When an old fart like me sees our defense in shambles, hurts. Maybe the game has passed me by, but I sure as hell will continue to express some of my thoughts through Erk's avatar. Erk was a good man also, just like Richt is often referred to as being. Erk however understood team play, and a time and place for all of his actions. Ego problems, Erk did not know the meaning of the word.

Another cup of coffee, might have something interesting to say . . . . :)

Rdawg, your post #6 in the Just Asking x3 thread, spot on.

Intentionally not coaching well out of spite so he can make Richt look bad? Is that what you meant?

If that's what you meant, then that's a pretty loaded charge.

Saban rules the room for a different reason... exactly Buc

Remember when I said something about smokescreen? Saban intimidates because of results. Grantham intimidates as
a smokescreen. Act indignant... get loud, boistrous.. chew that gum harder and look mean. That'll show them how tough you are. Avoid answering for the question and make your escape while that smoke still lingers heavily in the air.

Still having a problem with players on video and no Wilson, Olivadotti, Lakatos, couple of graduate assistants Robinson and McDonald. Most of my concern about those with closed mouths is Lakatos.

Couple of coaches come to mind when I think of running the show, two of them belonged to Alabama. Saban and Bryant.

When Alabama rules the roost, coaches like Saban and Bryant make the difference. When we check the other programs out or the Alabama program when they did not have the two mentioned, results speak for themselves.
