Grantham and the Time Clock

What are the chances that if Florida were to lose say 3 more games this season that Muschamp would get ran out of town? What are the chances that we could land him as DC? I doubt they would fire him after one bad season but crazier things have happened. Plus if he were to get fired he would probably find another HC job somewhere wouldn't ya think...

I've commented about the offense, and their mistakes this past week.

Sorry though... I'm not really going to ask much of them until TG answers for the D.

The O... yep they dropped the ball, but they came into the game under tremendous pressure because of the
injuries and because of the sorry state of our D.

Early in the 2nd.. they found themselves down by 11. Here we go again...

You bet they had a hand in the defeat, but I wonder how they would have played if they didn't face the pressure of having to score 40+ every week in order to win.

Put them under that pressure each and every week, and bad things will eventually happen.

wlayton, one thing for sure about Erk, if he had the chance to face up with the modern types of offenses, he would have either done well, or . . . . Erk sure as hell would not be laying it off on others. Grantham could not carry the you know what for Erk.

Not seeing the love for Grantham that the young men had for Erk. There is a very good reason for that, first time on this board that I have openly said this, have referred to it but . . . . Grantham has a huge EGO problem.

Good friend of mine said Grantham made himself a super deal landing in Athens. Jerry Jones and his group did not need Todd Grantham. FACT. Appears to me that Grantham pulled off a bank robbery, without a weapon. Guess he is good at something.

Looking forward to Nashville and I hope the cameras are on Todd Grantham. Vandy is ready for the 3 man front. No, not pulling for Vandy, been around long enough to understand football. 36869, still looking for a coaching job?

I will get over this, but I do know what I am seeing, and it amounts to a lot of coach speak. More than Grantham doing that.

sflanagan21, if Georgia takes Muschamp's pants down in JAX, regardless of what Jeremy Foley thinks, the gator folks in Florida will be all over the university and Foley. Three losses to UGA, the party is over.

As far as Muschamp finding a job . . . . would be employed the next day or the same night. Muschamp is a defensive coach, not a head coach. Muschamp is a down in the dirt kind of dude, hard to please the folks that extend their little finger when sipping tea.

Good question sflanagan21. Muschamp might even return to Texas, Brown would welcome him with open arms, would probably open up the previous deal for him. Burned too many bridges with his mouth, not a chance between the Hedges.

Last thing. Florida folks want to win, but they are adamant about beating UGA. That is the "fans" priority on their remaining games.

Be interesting to see how well Grantham's calls in JAX work for us against one of the worst offenses in SEC football. JMO. (and a couple more) . . . .

Many good points . . . . again Wartdawg. Going to catch my breath and try to answer some of them later. Good "stuff" Wartdawg. :)

Here is another thingy that I have a hard time understanding.

Picked this up from Seth Emerson's work.

"There's discussions," inside linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti said. "The whole thing is I trust Reggie, and each week is different. Some weeks it's easier than others to get guys in the game, at different matchups and stuff like that. The thing I like about Reggie is he works the same no matter what. He's been good this week, he's been good last week. I always rave about him, and it's not just coach-speak. I really like him. I like everything he does. I like everything he does on and off the field."Olivadotti doesn't look at it as one player - such as Carter - spelling another player - such as Wilson. Olivadotti pointed to the past two years when four inside linebackers (Herrera, Alec Ogletree, Mike Gilliard, Christian Robinson) all got a lot of snaps. That wasn't because of an intentional desire to sub, like on the defensive line, but because of different roles in packages. "The last two years we had four guys playing who each had a role, and we considered each of them starters," Olivadotti said. "And that's what we're working towards, is get guys in different roles that they can excel at, so we've got the best 11 for each situation out there."So is Carter No. 1 in any role yet?"He's working his way towards that," Olivadotti said, smiling.

Talk coming from Olivadotti about Reggie drives me up the wall. Is it he can't play Reggie because Herrera is there and has seniority? Just asking folks.

Olivadotti's use of "coach speak"? Where is that coming from?

Grantham will get his a$$ handed to him with Herrera trying to cover Vandy receiver and tight ends over the middle, or anywhere. Sorry, Herrera does not belong on the field if we have better. Freshman, Junior, Senior, what difference does that make? We have been through this BS with quarterbacks and others. Mark Richt?

Edit: Looked Seth's article over again. He gave us a paragraph that some of us have asked prior to the article.

Surprise, surprise, surprise. Todd Grantham said nothing and Scott Lakatos did not meet with the media. SHAMEFUL.

Finally, if Georgia's much-maligned secondary will see personnel changes, the coaches aren't saying yet. Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham did not reveal any plans, and secondary coach Scott Lakatos did not meet the media.

Why would I want to hear from those two? What would they say to the folks that "might" ask something of value?
