After watching the game again, saw abunch of stuff I didn't like. Offensive line buc you nailed to gurley's skill makes our offensive line look good. They were beat soundly multiple times off of the snap.

Defensively everyone has covered what we've been through in this thread. Yes the d is young, it is also poorly coached.

Honestly don't know who I'd rather want to be the defensive coordinator. Willie or Todd. Seems like we got rid of Willie for another Willie. Same problems are still there even after Willie left, can't cover, can't tackle.

Just look at LSU. New, young guys too. They started slow, learning, inexperienced, etc but look what Chavis is doing with them now......they are quickly becoming the dominating type D we are used to seeing at LSU.

THAT's a good coach.

wlayton, watched the LSU game. Mentioned earlier in this thread that the difference between LSU and UGA is coaching. The Tigers will give their all for Les Miles. Might have posted that elsewhere. Motivation can be a difficult project, we have a major project facing us.

Have to say this, hoping that we don't start the 2014 year with TG as the defensive coordinator. That will not be the case, but it never hurts to express ones feelings.

BullDawg2010, spend a lot of time watching offensive lines, part of my makeup.

One thing that has really caught my eye this year . . . . our offensive linemen are not getting to the second level. Think that speaks to a couple of things. When we were successful earlier in the year, we were pretty close to 50/50 pass and run. Still on the running plays, Gurley was having to battle after hitting the second level. Gurley was just being superman, and sooner or later, injuries are almost guaranteed to come.

Like you, not too much more to say about the defense.

One thing has been proven in the 2013 Season. A very good offense can win games. That should allow the defense time to grow (said I was finished talking about the D). Our defensive coaches have apparently not taken advantage of time to adjust.

Not a bigger supporter of Todd Grantham on this board than myself. After recalling the many antics that I have witnessed from him on the sideline, especailly in Orlando, can't say honestly that I have ANY faith in his college play calling.

Some say Mike Bobo is bad, I don't buy into that anymore. Todd Grantham has eclipsed by far the mistakes that Bobo made the last two seasons. FACT.

Hell, I don't know, just having a hard time getting a grip on the Red and Black. Keep seeing talent arrive in Athens, leave and go to the NFL, right now watching Jenkins playing for NO and playing like an all pro.

BullDawg2010, something pulled me back to this post. Realize now what it was . . . . Willie was defensive coordinator for UGA. Left and was hired as a defensive back coach at Oklahoma, did not work out, went to Auburn, same result, now resides in Knoxville as defensive back coach. Just what in the hell does that tell us about our hires? Just asking. Will TG face the same downhill run? Food for thought.

My Dad, an Alabama alumni called me yesterday to console me. He knows college football inside and out especially the SEC! He said son, you know your problem isn't your 4 and 5 star athletes right. He said, give Saban, Muschamp, The Hat, the Ole Ball Coach, Malzahn, Sumlin and even Freeze your team and all of that talent and see where ya end up. Your boys are under coached son and that's as far as ya have to research! The conversation went on for close to an hour and it ended with him saying this, boy it's good to be a Bama fan!

We hung up and I thought about his last comment for a long time and I started thinking back to all of those dang NC that they have won and how proud my Dad was after each and everyone! Fellows I was freaking 8 the last time we won one! We all deserve better! No wonder so many people have jumped ship. Hey, NO way in hell will I ever jump ship and that's not what I'm saying!! Just saying we deserve better and so do our boys...

Just thought I would share that story from a die hard Bama fan, we aren't the only ones that see our problem...

Other than the slight majority of our fan base, which unfortunately happens to be delusional and/or accepting of never showing signs of moving forward, I think most of the college football watching world can see our problem.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
