SEC championship is still possible. National championship is gone. What else is new?

SEC East is still possible

We are still a 2nd tier SEC team

outscored 21-3 in second qtr

Can't tackle

Confused on D

No Help in Man coverage due to not knowing what to do

4 turnovers

Cannot protect the QB

Is not an SEC Championship team

Enjoy the Capital One or Chik-Fil-A Bowl

Sadly, THIS is what we've accepted as a fan base. This isn't the first season when injuries exposed our weaknesses, as well as issues with depth. INCOMPLETE, is the word that comes to mind when I think of our program. I'll not bother with protestations about coaches and/ or coaching, they speak for themselves and frankly, I don't expect much will ever change until CMR retires!

It is what it is fellow Dawgs. Been here, done this. Plenty of football left to play!

GO DAWGS!!!!

On the offense, the line is a joke.
The only suspense left in the year is whether the D or the O-line takes the Last Comic Standing trophy as the biggest joke of the year.

At some point in time, we are going to realize that running the type offense that we do, have to have a left tackle.

sadlerdawg, todays game points out just how much players like Gurley mean to the offensive stats. Offensive line looks much better on paper when Gurley through skill and desire covers up their lack of skill.

Trying real hard not to be too ugly, at some point those in Athens have to understand just how much the offensive line means in situations like today.

Players like Gurley don't come around often, we make up for that with filling what I call the "skill positions" . . . . Offensive linemen.

Have much to say about the 3 man front on defense later. That might take up a lot of copy space.

I am stuck in East Alabama, surrounded by Tide and Tiger fans and you know what I have NEVER HEARD one of them say "oh we can still win the west".
Alabama goes into every season and every game thinking they can win the NC. They don't even mention winning the SEC they want the whole thing. I know some people that have friends that play and have played for Bama and they say that is exactly how the coaches and team thinks as well.

The goal should be the NC and then the east and sec championships will be there. Not lets win the east and see what happens after that.

For me the goal was never to win the east. Thought this would be the year for the title. So close last year. Thought it would transition into this year. Hasn't.

Salderdawg, injuries didn't play a huge role today, the fumble Douglas had hurt, but we had a chance to come back. Agreed injuries had no part in this game. Defense is pretty healthy still can't play defense.

Buc, Agreed as well. Our d was dominated, our offensive line was dominated. Knew Missouri had a good pass rush, said it earlier, but I thought our offensive line knew that too and would buy Murray time, did it some but not enough.

Hope we can bounce back. The last thing I want to see is the Steve crybaby spurrier play in the sec championship game.

I seriously can't believe how bad our defense is.
Being young doesn't prevent you from knowing how to tackle. Being young doesn't prevent you from knowing that if your a deep safety you play freaking deep. Trick play or not.

Orgedawg said can't play man bc of confusion. I agree.

Would like to add on to that, we can't play zone either because of guess what? Confusion.

This loss falls straight on the defense and offensive line. TG if this loss doesn't show you that our defense is confused, can't play their fundamentals then do us all a favor and get the eff out of Athens.

Or you can stay like wille attempted too and get run out.

Think that most of us know that Todd Grantham understands certain defenses. Just not sure as many have said . . . . his effectiveness trying to bring young high schoolers up to speed. I like emotion, but sometimes that backfires. There is a time and place for everything, have to be careful with some athletes, times have changed over the years.

Do believe that these young players are folks that Grantham wanted, so . . . . this is his presentation after four years of work.

Hate to say it, but Grantham's stock is falling, if that is a fact, means that Georgia Football falls with him.

Everything that has happened on the football field is not because of Grantham's coaching, but he does have to take a close look at giving up an average of over 33 points a game.

With a young defense as most like to refer to our defense, my problem is the defensive points given up are not falling. One would expect more than that at this point into our schedule.

Can't keep laying it off on the young pups. If that is the case, then someone is saying that this group of players on the defense are not up to SEC caliber football. JMHO.

yd1, beginning to think that Lakatos is the "invisible" man. Never hear anything about him. I truly do not have a clue to his coaching methods. Only thing that I can hang my hat on is Lakatos like tall defensive backs.

Brings me to this, think I saw more effort and play making from Shaq Wiggins. Sure as heck is not over six feet tall.

yankeedawg1, lots of questions, don't seem to be a lot of answers.

Buc, last year was not a bunch of young pups and it wasn't much better.

Some are wise and some are otherwise !
