I'm in. I don't think we have to put Gurley on the field to win this game.

Given the hole, JJ can take it to the house at any time.

With less of a hole, Douglas can get a tough 3 yards, and it seems JJ can drive a little bit as well.

Then we also have Hicks who can do some things.

We are still putting serious talent out there.

Hey WD, what has happened to the quick hitter with Hicks and the short, roll out pass to him in the flats??

Baffles me.

Wartdawg, thought about your statement below . . . .

With less of a hole, Douglas can get a tough 3 yards, and it seems JJ can drive a little bit as well.

Don't get me wrong, think that is what I would call an "almost" pinpoint statement.

Thinking about what some of the experienced players and Mark Richt have said after participating and coaching both, they come close to what you said.

Garrison Smith has said on a couple of occasions that Douglas is powerful, and also said has surprising speed. He does not have at this point a basket full of carries in the SEC. Douglas might find his way around in the Missouri game. Those of you that played the game understand the difference in the first carry and the 50th. Will not be surprised to see Douglas give us a glimpse of things to come.

Seems as if JJ Green has been pointed out by his coaches as having speed and that "toughness" to run off tackle. Different backbone than a player we had high hopes for three years back. Best I remember Mark Richt said that Green comes in around 175 pounds, does not bother him to "stick it in the hole". Think I made a remark similar to that in another thread, comparing Green with Warrick Dunn. Reminds me so much of Dunn. Think we will see that tomorrow, going to light it up.

growl, would be a hoot to have "coverage sacks or hurries" . . . . thinking out loud again . . . .

I don't know and it baffles me as well. This is the thing that frustrates me at times about our play calling.

We have this stuff that works, and it disappears for long stretches for no apparent reason. You know how much
I love utilizing the FB.. so few teams do it that it almost always catches the D off guard and ends up being a
positive play, especially with the beasts we usually have lined up in that position.

Might be time to remember those plays and move them back towards the beginning of the playbook. I by-golly know
they are in there somewhere!

----

Buc.. JJ really surprised me a bit. I knew he had the speed and was a threat every time he touched it, but I did
not expect the lower body drive I've seen out of him on a few plays.

Douglas... imagine you've been pounded on by the big uglies (term of endearment, not ridicule) for 3 qtrs... and
then Douglas starts pounding on you.

Not fun my friends, not fun at all... for the bad guys.

We just need to make sure we are in the position to do that in the 4th qtr.

Think most of us know that Green has "another" gear. Agree with you Wartdawg, he surprised me for sure. Tomorrow, this is not Alabama, but it will let us see what the coaching staff and players already knew.

Just need for one of our Freshmen to light it up, then we will see everyone "bring it". With . . . . coaching them up.
