Georgia/Missouri . . . . LSU/Florida

Georgia/Missouri, interesting game to watch. Very important to win this game. Another spread offense, defense will be tested.

Another game that means a lot to those of us that follow Georgia and the SEC East is Florida/LSU. This game will have a lot to say about how the SEC East plays out.

LSU has home turf. Florida playing lights out on defense. LSU has two wideouts that are going to the NFL. Florida has a defensive backfield that is the best in the SEC, my opinion. Florida's defensive front is very active. Mettenburger plays from the pocket. LSU offensive line has not been all that so far this season. This game could come down to the winner of the battle between Florida's offensive line and LSU's defensive line.

Florida has a quarterback, Tyler Murphy that has turned an ordinary offense into more of what Tebow brought to the table. Difference between Tebow and Murphy, speed and arm strength. Murphy wins on both counts. I was a lot less worried about Florida prior to Murphy taking over. Not the same team with Murphy under center.

Just another reason that I hope Gurley does not return too quickly. The game in JAX is going to require us to have a running game. Not a doubt in my mind.

Gurley, use your head, know that you are a smart young man. I think that you never healed properly after the Clemson game. Anyone watching closely enough could see that you were "hiding" things. While it is admirable, there is a great future in football for you. You could get hurt even when you are well, however the odds increase when you are less than 100%. You have earned and gained the respect of the Bulldog Nation. You do not have to prove anything to any of us, we know that you are a man. Saw you on the sideline in the Tennessee game, shades and smiles. Also saw your face on camera when your Brother went down. Think.

Have to add this . . . . Grantham was on board in Athens before Muschamp arrived in Gainesville, Florida. Both coaches are considered to be "defensive coaches". Not going too deep with this, but do have questions as to the growth of both coaches statistics. Folks that I know in Florida still remember and point to the "choke" sign that was expressed by our defensive coordinator.

Maybe we tone things down on the defensive side, meaning animation, just coach these young men up. It is about the players, not the coaches, at least it should be that way. Erk was animated, but never to the point of playing with disrespect.

Too much talent to be giving up the points that we are at the present. Hard sometimes for folks to drop their egos and move forward. Actually, seldom does that happen. Missouri and Georgia, hope we see what is possible on the defensive side. The healthy side.

Go Dawgs, coach'em up . . . .

Right on point as usual Buc! No doubt this game for us is HUGE! Prolly as big as any game at this point, some young pups are gonna have to step up! My gut is saying that our D is gonna have a pretty solid showing this weekend, timing and chemistry is everything. We get by Mizz then we should have Gurley and Bennett ready by Fla. and the dream is still alive!

My brother is a Gator fan and he is estatic with TM! It's no secret how good their D is, maybe the best in the nation behind Stanford in my opinion. Now they have a productive O to balance out a very good coached team! I would say that they are the hottest team in the nation right now and if they do beat LSU then look out...Wow that was really hard for me to say haha!

If Gurley was the only guy hurt, we'd destroy Missouri. JJ Green can run just fine, and I'd forgotten completely about Turman. But not having Malcolm Mitchell, Michael Bennett, Keith Marshall and Justin Scott-Wesley is just too much to lose. What would anyone have said if we knew that only 5 games into the season every one of those guys would be out? Goodbye championship chances.

Then, you add a defense that made Tennessee's offense look like the Denver Broncos and can't even make that ONE ADDITIONAL STOP that would keep the game from even getting close.

That is a recipe for disaster.

I think I'm a pretty optimistic guy - most of the time. But I can't see us winning this one.

Back to the defense. If you make ONE more stop per game, that's points off the board for the other team. Every game we've played it would have kept a game from getting close, and in one case, could have turned the loss into a win. But we can't do it.

I'm worried.

DWS, goes to show just how serious the ankle(s) injury is/are. Gurley took some serious licks prior to the ankle injury. Folks that played the game know when you have a injury, continue to play, often leads to a different problem. Not the right time for Gurley to come back. Hit the sideline again wearing the shades with a big smile, means a lot to those that will play. Gurley is a leader by example, much like AM. Would love to see Marshall on the sideline, not sure if his injury will allow that.

I'm in your camp thriller. While I do think we can beat Mizzou, it isn't going to be easy. I have ZERO confidence in what CTG is doing with our D and I HOPE he makes me eat those words.

With the injuries, I'm just not sure AM can outscore Mizzou. On a good note that was pointed out on another post, Mizzou has literally played NOBODY.

This may sound funny but I believe we have a chance to beat them because of how well our OL has been playing. Great OL play can make average players, great players.

I'm mainly worried simply because of lack of results from CTG.

UF/LSU.....while Murphy has played very well and has become the "be all end all" for UF fans, he still hasn't been in a big game situation yet. Let's see how he does this weekend at LSU....I'm not convinced yet....he was 3rd string last year. Should be fun to watch....BIG LSU fan this week.
