Cats coming to town.

Too often over the years I have had thoughts about why and when penalties are called. Have noticed that one team gets the upper hand on the opponent, score becomes hard realistically to even out. (Some) refs tend to even up the calls, makes it appear to be well called game, when in reality that is not the case.

I am a great believer in having officials, game would not be the same without them. Also, like the idea, and we see more and more of it, cameras strategically placed so as to get the correct call. Sometimes officials on the field are hidden from the true picture of what happened. Also know that these young men are moving at lightening speed, tough job to be on point sometimes.

One reason that I went off on officials calls . . . . Remembering LSU in the endzone with AJ the last time we faced off between the Hedges. Short term memory sometimes escapes me, long term, like a steel trap . . . . :woohoo:

Good points, AllDawgs5 and wlayton - I guess that's why they PLAY the game, instead of calculating it.

And Buc, that penalty is still sitting in my craw. AJ seemed to be a lightening rod for unjust punishment.

GO DAWGS

AllDawgs5, if ratings mean anything, referring to 5, 4, 3 stars, LSU has been right there with Alabama for several years.

Chavis scares the heck out of me. He gets the job done. His side of the ball, my opinion, looking over the wins and losses at LSU since Chavis has been there, Chavis is the determining factor in more than 50% of the LSU wins.

Mark Richt wanted Chavis. Not to be, he is comfortable in his skin, not after notoriety. Puts his hard hat on everyday and requires the same from his players. Results follow. Probably would have been a great head coach at Tennessee, he however does not seem to look back or care to be the "up front guy".

That is where I think/hope we are headed. See some signs of moving up the ladder.

We can negate the disadvantage with our O-line against their D-line with play calling. 3 step drops, swings and screens etc

In the running game, I don't see us being able to just man up and mash them at all, but we can run on the edges and maybe do some
trapping on the inside. That would reduce the line battle to 1 and 2 man games on each individual play and we might be able to
win enough of those confrontations to have enough running success to make them play us honest.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

3rd downs is my concern to many times we have had opponents converting 3rd and long. Also is it just me or is Murray tipping his hand when he passes out to the flat seems that the defenders arrive at the same time as the ball.

Probaby some have seen this series of videos. Have said this before, I have some folks that don't or can't get some of the things that are posted here, so I try to pass this along through this board . . . .

Looking into the eyes of these young men on video, they will play football on Saturday. Said before, say again . . . . give us what you have, that will be enough. South Carolina came with broad shoulders, expect the same from LSU. This is GROWN MAN FOOTBALL. This is what "we" . . . . "you and I" love about the SEC. Rest of the nation . . . . watch, this is how football is played in the SOUTH.
