Have had thoughts that we would see this from Keith Marshall. Whether he comes out of the backfield or lines up in the slot, (would prefer him in the slot) along with Hicks and Gurley in the backfield, and AM able to use his "wheels". Don't really know how this can be defensed. Still comes back to the offensive line. JMHO.
Also, opens up other "possibilities". We have receivers than can burn you or come back to the ball. Lots of talent in Athens.
Good football post Wartdawg.
Yeah... it forces a LB to try and cover the back. If it's zone, the LB is dropping back and you hit the back underneath. If it's man, then
a LB has to try and stay with a KM.. lolol good luck with that. If the D goes into nickel or dime type coverages, then the O can just
check to a power run and if they can get past the first level the D is in big trouble. All you have to have to make this play work is a
credible threat at TE and a back that can catch. It's similar to the middle screen except you are trying to hit the back in stride already moving forward in the second level. Not all teams have the personnel to run it, but we do... in spades.
wlayton... agree completely. If we don't get slap run over, we have a strong shot to win.
