I was not nervous about this game til I saw how nervous everyone else was about this game...now I have gotten a little nervouse. I read through four pages of this thread and stopped because I saw basically the same thing and honestly here is what I think our recipe to a W is...Man up and let your sacks drop dawgs! Hope that doesnt offend anyone on this board but basically they are just gonna have to man up against a physical stable of backs that LSWHO has. The thing is those same backs and fb that LSWHO has...guys we have them too! Quayvon, Gurley and hell even KM is a beast. Pound the hell out of em up the middle like they will try and do to us with QH and TG and boom screen pass to KM and get his speedy behind out on the edge and as the RoadRunner says to the Coyote...BEEP BEEP!!!! I know this is going to be a tough tough game for us but guys just like Buc stated about seeing on LSWHO boards they are CONFIDENT in that they will pounce on us but last time I checked we are battle tested and only getting better! Instead of us being the ones who are cautious I am gonna put my 2 cents in and say that Langley and Matthews have breakout games in the secondary and Jordan Jenkins FINALLY goes Jarvis Jones on there A$$! I am so hyped for this game and I honestly believe it will be the most physical game for us this year but if the crowd shows up like they did against SC then this week we will come away with a butt load of exp for our young guys AND confidennce and we will have the swagger that we need to get back to ATL...I respect all you guys on here and we ALL BLEED RED AND BLACK!!! GO DAWGS! R.I.P Paul Oliver btw and we miss you brother!

their O line is good but I do not see them really controlling the clock. They will get huge chunks of yards on our D the way we tackle. No way they control the clock.

I used to hate these games because we always seemed to play down to the level of the weakest link. The Scar game showed me that these pups have heart and desire, which is something we've missed as a team for some time.
Of course, there can always be a let down. This is the biggest game of the year, and we've not fared well in the past but I have optimism going into this one. One thing that strikes me is the conversation about how good the LSU OL is. Of course, it's a talented bunch, but I can't understand why nobody is talking about how that plays out against the team that worked Scar's OL, another talented bunch. I'm still on the fence as to the outcome of this one, but I think we surprise in a lot of areas. I also think the ST play is improved. We have more than a puncher's chance in this one.

Yeah, could be a "catch 22" unfortunately. If we don't man up against the run, they could actually score quickly......on the ground.
Sorry people, I'm worried about us stopping the run....their OL is very good and we haven't proven we can stop the run even with the studs we had on the D last year (don't go UF game on me, you can see now that they were just an awful offensive team).
Hope we re-live the BAMA game a few years ago when they said we weren't man enough.

I'm afraid I agree with wlayton. Our D is porous against the run. I can easily see LSU staying on the ground and grinding out 6 and 7 yards a pop and just getting first down after first down.
One thing I like to do is ask myself how I would attack my own team if I was the opposing coach. My answer this weekend is simple. Hand the ball to Hill. Hand it to him again. First down. Hand it to him again. And again. And again. Another first down. By the end of the third quarter things could get out of hand.
On the other hand, LSU DOES bring one less dimension against us than what other teams have had - their QB is no Fran Tarkenton when it comes to scrambling. If given the choice of facing TJ Boyd, Connor Shaw or Zack Mettenberger, I'll take ZM any day. True, he has a rocket launcher attached to his shoulder, but he's got no wheels. That will give the LBs a LITTLE less to worry about, so maybe they can turn a little more attention to getting after the run. When they do drop back to pass, someone better be in his face, because their receivers are studs.
Someone please tell the trainers to get the ice bath ready for Sunday.

True, thriller, Mettenburger doesn't have the wheels these other QB's do, but he won't need them if we have to commit the entire D besides the secondary to stop the run. He can be a statue and pick us apart. We have to tackle properly and get penetration on D, and stop the run, period, IMO, or we are toast.
