wlayton, looking for one thing Saturday. Want this group to stand tall. Lot of chatter about JHC coming back along with a couple others. Truthfully, it is not the defensive side that is giving me nightmares. Not sure about some of the calls being made on defense, that of course belongs to Grantham. After looking at the film, first time for many of these puppies on defense, I have hope. Loss last weekend is to be shared by both sides of the ball. I said that. Said the same thing earlier.
Truthfully believe that Grantham needs to look at the college game differently than he did in the pros. Pro guys are there until they can't or don't have what it takes to play in the NFL. Over that period of time they understand the ins and outs of what coaches like Grantham teach. Got my eyes on Todd Grantham, no excuses if we are not improving.
College players are trying to get to that point. In the service we called them "short timers". It is an absolute must in my mind that we don't let their 4 beat our 3. You know that I know, and I know that you know, there are games played with fronts. We really need to stop the run, and I think this is the right choice of words . . . . control the run.
Their offensive line and Davis and the other back will come hard. If Grantham allows the same kind of yardage that he has in the recent past, will bother me. Not crazy about bend but don't break. Clemson proved that last statement to be true last Saturday. South Carolina did it to us last season, as did Alabama. Why change a winning formula?
wlayton, with the short amount of time that AM has after the snap, can't see everything. That would have been a great time for AM to use his "wheels". However he did not know or have the TIME to do that.
Big game, time for the "winners" to step up.
