Right on growl.

A little something from Spurrier prior to the game against Vandy. The "goofy look" that he had leaving Sanford Stadium, and comments like the one below, believe SS has come to realize that the party is over.

From the internet, Spurrier's latest. Does not get along well with others. Going to be a real treat if the "Nerds" take it to Stevie and his group. Would not surprise me. Spurrier coming apart at the seams. Florida did not want him back, Foley stopped that. NFL proved that he did not belong, also could not get along with the owner. Chickens scratch, Spurrier is a chicken.

Spurriers remarks . . . .
“The biggest difference is their athletes. They’re not slow guys anymore. They’re fast, and they’re in excellent shape. You don’t see many overweight guys playing for Vanderbilt. Even their offensive linemen are not quite as heavy as they used to be, but their defensive players are really in tip-top shape. They’re fast and lean, and they can really run…

I don’t know all the academic requirements they have there at Vanderbilt, but if you’re going to play in the SEC you’ve got to recruit very closely to the standards everybody else has. I would think they’ve relaxed them a little bit, but I don’t know exactly…

They want to play football, and they want to be competitive, and to do that you almost have to have the requirements pretty close to the other schools. Pretty close.”

growl, normally the following awards are passed out by wlayton. Here goes . . . . :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

We get back to playing football like Stanfill and many others did in Athens, we will be a hand full. Truth.

Feel that Langley is going to be another Jake Scott. Something about this young man that reminds me of Jake. That for damn sure is a plus for Georgia Football. For sure the bad guys better have their heads on a swivel, believe BL brings that to Athens. :)

Edit: Had to do it folks . . . . One for the old farts. DawgDoc you are the older fart so . . . . enjoy SIR. :)

I was thinking the same thing while watching the game Saturday, he is tenacious and will get after you. When he learns a few more ins and outs he going to be a handful. Just like a Bulldog puppy always nipping at your heels til he gets up enough nerve to grab ahold and not let go. He's got enough energy for four or five other guys, now to direct it into more positive outcomes, gonna be a goodun!

growl, one thing that I really like about Langley . . . . does not make EXCUSES.

Jake Scott was the same way. Scott and VD had personal problems, from where I sit, Jake was right. That is another story. Took a long time for that difference of opinon to come "close" to being settled.

Jake loved Erk, and I can promise you, that was mutual. Say it again without getting too far into the real "stuff". Erk should have been Head Coach at Georgia, single biggest mistake made within our football program. If Erk had been Head Coach, there are no guarantees that we would have added another National Championship.

Buc would have loved to have seen what Erk could have done if the "politics" had not been involved at that point in time. Head coaches and ex head coaches sometimes have egos that look a lot like Steve Spurriers.

All we have to do is check what Erk did after he left Georgia. Hard for anyone to deny that he took a university from "nothing" and what happened after that . . . . the record speaks for itself. Buc will never, ever get past the TRUTH.

Back to this group of football players in Athens. Todd Grantham is very close to having "all bases covered". FACT. Believe that Grantham now has to live up to "our expectations". Reason . . . . Grantham said that the talent level is close enough to Athens to make a difference. He said that, I did not, just repeating what has been said.

I am not holding his feet to the fire, but will say this . . . . LSU is going to run the football. Allow them to gain the same yardage that others have against us, Metternberger will have a field day. Don't give a hoot if Jake Scott or anyone else is on the field, LSU is the real deal, and they are several times better than South Carolina.

Me thinks that Metternberger is not a running quarterback, we know where he will be 80/90% of the time. Straight three man front, we will be in trouble.

Sorry folks, LSU scares me. Real good football team lead by a coach that cannot be described as "conventional" or even close to that word.

Looking at some film, LSU is "nasty" again . . . . believe our season rests with LSU in Athens between the Hedges. My opinion.

I get sidetracked in my mind, can't help that. Yes I like Langley more than a lot.

Well written article by Marc Weiszer of the ABH, what's new . . . .

Said in post above that Langley reminds me of Scott, after reading what Marc had to say, appears I came pretty close. Still think that Langley will end up playing safety. Has the size and temperament (nasty) to get his opponents attention. He will hit you . . . . more than once if you dare trespass. My opinion.
