thriller you hit it again. Not surprising.

Watched Ramik through high school, he would come after you. Chances are he might not hold the ILB spot down. When there are young pups that can replace or share time with a talent like Ramik, I am totally impressed.

Couple of serious posters on this board have mentioned getting after the quarterback, that is what Todd Grantham teaches, has for a long time. Totally agree that we need to turn these young players loose. Grantham will.

Speed kills. We have a double dose of that for Clemson on the 31st. Both sides of the ball.

Big thing for me in the opener . . . . watch the offensive and defensive lines go through their paces. Meaning . . . . Will Friend and Chris Wilson's efforts with this group.

Getting close folks . . . . :woohoo:

The offense is set no doubt about it plenty of talent(if they perform to there talent). Our defense wasn't great last year. A couple of good linebackers JJ and AO. I think overall we might have a better D this year it's not that hard to improve on from last year. We gave up a lot of points last year(Tenn. and S.C).
It's time for them to take the next step. The coaching and the players are there time to make it happen.
I'm ready for some football boys GO DAWGS!!!!

Good read below written by Marc Weiszer.

Coaches have been working on depth in my opinion since the arrival of Todd Grantham. That is my opinion. Do know that overall depth has improved since his arrival. Whether we are there yet, soon we will find out. 2014 Recruiting efforts look real good at this point.

When I read quotes from our team like the following, encouraging. Soft schedule or not last season, it has been mentioned many times . . . . win/loss suits me.

Plucked this from the article below.

“We’re better than last year,” Gates said. “We’ve got more guys stepping up and we trust each other. We love playing with each other. We have fun and we push each other.”

Another interesting article by David Ching.

This is a paragraph from David's article that caught my eye.

Mark Richt said . . . .

“There’ll be some receivers on that team that can make plays. So it’s not going to be a situation where they’re not going to get tested. I’m not saying they’re going to be as good as Clemson by any stretch, but they’ll be good enough to put some pressure on them.”

Speaks well for the recruiting that has been discussed. No longer are the Scout Team Players "only tackling dummies". UGA is getting deeper, too many injuries.

Can't speak to whether or not this is true, but there is a rumor afloat that maybe a member(s) might have stepped outside Richt and UGA's limits of following the rules. I say again, just something that is out there, have no inside information. Hope it is BS.

Great read Buc. I remember when we first hired CWF. Didn't know much about him, but believe you said he was going to be all that. Well, developing enough talent to have 8 or 9 guys rotating in is very impressive. Believe CWF understands SEC football. Unfortunately, going to be injuries in the front 5. Happens every year. Now, we have the talent to overcome those. Kudos to CWF.

As for the defense, I thought last year, our guys knew how good they were. They knew what they had to do to get a win, and usually that's what they did. Didn't have that same, we are going to try to dominate every game, and it burnt them in crunch time. Example, I look at the Kentucky game from last year. I remember UK having success running the football. There was no need in that. UK shouldn't have had any success whatsoever running the football on what we had last year. Only excuse for that is just simply not wanting it more than they did. Fast forward to the SEC champ game, great game, but what bama did to us on the ground was simply unacceptable. Over 300 yards on that defense is not acceptable. Now I am not questioning the effort the D played with against bama because they played hard, but if you are just doing enough all year to get by and not selling out, it is impossible to flip a switch and play with the urgency that you would need an entire game to beat a quality team. Hope that makes sense.

Reason I say all that is for this. Back to this years D. I do not see that happening. Believe many of the players have already stated, this D is not loaded down with guaranteed draft picks. This D is loaded with talent that wants to be noticed, and will absolutely get after it. They are going to make some mistakes, but I bet it is going to be fun to watch them play. Believe they will be faster than any D we have seen in quite some time.

GO DAWGS.

AllDawgs5, good to have you back.

I really like Will Friend, as you point out, just check the numbers of young folks that are ready to give it a go. Maybe should not say this but . . . . Will Friend played for Alabama back in the day. It is just a mindset that goes along with playing football in Tuscaloosa. "I want some".

Have always been and even more so now AD5, believe in line play, both sides. Not that long ago, we were moving linemen from offense to defense and vice versa. Appears that has ended. You carried the football in college, who better to speak about an offensive line. :)

Edit: There are a lot of good articles to read this morning. Really enjoyed the one below. Also, have seen photographs of Marshall this Spring and Summer. Easy to see that he has added body muscle. Couple of serious young men from North Carolina.
