If you look at last year's stats on D, they certainly weren't that good.....with the exception of the most important stat, "points allowed"....very good 19+/game

The D this year will "eventually" be better than last year's imo, just worried about the first two games in the secondary. JJ and company can solve that problem with pressure.

D is going to grow into one of the best we've had in a while.....imo, just may have to rely on the offense early on.

Nice to be back Buc, be ridiculously busy....have a national car show coming up I have been getting ready for....down your way.

Turnover winner really is almost guaranteed to win this 1st one fellas. We have been pretty strong in this department since CTG arrived...I sure hope we take extra good care of the ball on the road if we do, you'll see a stadium painted Red & Black come late next Saturday night!

Also, I plan to watch the Special teams closely. Just got a feeling somebody is taking one back w/these 2 teams' speed.

What Goose said. So much talk about D, that two aspects have not gotten enough mention IMHO. Special teams and turnovers.
Grated, last yrs D had plus TO ratio. Don't think it was great and that just means to me that our O did not turn ball over often.
Special teams - don't want to go back to the years of Billy Bennett when he led the SEC in scoring, but I would like to see our FG kicker hit some 40+ yarders with consistency. And punt team MUST be able to turn the field over. And I have seen some improvement in that. Reason why it got bad ... no attention to detail. CMR admitted that. Put some of the starting D on punt cover .... problem solved.

In short and not to state the obvious, we don't turn it over, cover punt and kick returns, and hit a few FGs and we win by 14. You heard it here.

Goose, with you on someone taking one to the house. Speedy players with moves equals exciting Special Teams play.

Turnovers, hope that we are on the good side of the ledger. When teams have 80 or so snaps, at some point there will be a muffed handoff or intercepted pass, just the way it is.

Going to be bodies flying around against Clemson. Clemson will come to play, home opener and the "detested SEC" on Clemson turf. Lots of "nerves" in this game, both players and fans.
