Some coach speak about Clemson. Offensive Coordinator Chad Morris is very direct.

When the dawgs go to Tigertown it will be rough. I don't think we can withstand the passing attack that they will give us. It will be a game that we could loose and more than likely will loose. I think the Clemson game will get us ready for the Gamecocks. We will loose to Clemson 42 - 28. I've seen these guys practice and they are probably the best team in America today.

Reading this article takes me back to some talk we have had on this board about the media and some of the "stuff" they throw out for us to read.

Speaking for myself, would put a lot more stock into what the SEC Coaches had to say about grading players in their conference. Who better to judge the on field talent?

Defensive players really need to check where they stand in the coaches minds as the 2013 Season begins. Good bulletin board post, might continue to jack up our players. Don't really believe this group will have a let down. Let down for me was the way our supposed great defense gave up to South Carolina in 2012.

On the offensive side, Marshall is going to as thriller said, be all that. Totally agree with thriller and his opinion of Marshall. Can feel it. Clemson will get to find out first hand just how good this backfield is, and the player that they wanted so badly, Marshall.

Do not believe that AM will allow this offensive group to wander, pedal to the metal, full steam ahead. Sure like having 8 or more offensive linemen fighting for playing time. Could be very good folks, find out soon.

I read that article too, Buc. I happen to agree with the coaches. Johnny "You-Know-What" is all glitz and glam and show. Don't get me wrong, I know the kid can play QB. But I truly believe when the chips are down, he's going to get plunked by some pretty tough dudes playing LB at 'Bama. They snuck up on the Tide and SQUEAKED one out on 'em - they ain't sneaking up on 'em again.

I agree with the coaches, but disagree in only one regard - I'd take McCarron over Johnny any day. Before everyone snuffs me out, hear me out. I base that on a couple of things. First, championships. McCarron has played for more of them and WON more. Second, check out his efficiency - Holy Smokes! McCarron just doesn't make mistakes EVER. He plays for a run first team, and even so, turns in HEAD turning stats.

I believe lightening struck last year for A&M against 'Bama, and I believe if it hadn't done that, someone else would've hoisted the Heisman. Now Johnny "You-Know-What" has created a "must-win" situation for himself, put himself out there for the world to see (not just on the football field), and now MUST deliver. We'll see if he does. I say they will lose to 'Bama AND LSU this year - nobody else on their schedule is worthy.

I love having AM for our QB. Veteran with a strong arm and a stronger brain. You sure can't say that about Johnny.

You know thriller, that's a tough one (good topic for another post, huh?).

McC has a lot better players around him than Johnny and believe Johnny is a much better athlete. Actually hard to compare them in my mind......I believe McC is a better NFL prospect than Johnny because of your reasons but Johnny "may" be a better collegiate QB.

McC is "pro style".....Johnny is "sandlot" a lot like Eric Crouch at Nebraska (that won a Heisman).

McC "works the system" efficiently......Johnny has the knack to just "make it happen".

Great topic of conversation.
