You make a very good point wlayton.
I wonder just how good AM would be if he had played behind the same skilled offensive lines that AJ McCarron played behind in Tuscaloosa.
I also don't believe that AJ McCarron would have reached the heights that he has, had it not been for that group in front of him. Came a time when a very skilled center needed to let the young man know that "they" are the folks that have lifted his game to the point that it is. AJ plays behind any other offensive line in the SEC, the results will not be the same. AJ should have been buying dinners on more than one occasion in the last two seasons.
AM came close to a miracle in Atlanta. Not knocking our offensive line, they got much better as the year progressed, still, at the end, Alabama has ruled the roost when it comes to offensive line play.
What I said above is the power that comes with winning. Don't forget, Richt beat Saban in Alabama. Don't really feel good about what has happened since that particular night, we started misfiring and they moved up quickly. Right now Saban has this college football game figured out.
Saban also knows that UGA has a chance to move up quickly with the athletes that are choosing Athens and playing between the Hedges. Saban said on national TV that Georgia came within five yards of beating the Tide. He was not blowing smoke. For Nick Saban to say that, he knows where his competition will be coming from. Therefore the huge battle for Laremy Tunsil. Program changer.
Just a couple of thoughts from an old fart.
