Ken Malcome made what I consider a very good decision. Ken is not chopped liver, he could start and play for many teams that I have watched during his stay at UGA.
What happened to Malcome happens to not only people in sports it happens in the business world also. Cream rises to the top, and that is not a shot at Ken, it's just that Ken is not Todd Gurley. When Malcome was recruited by Georgia, no way did he or UGA know that Gurshall was on the horizon. Not the first time this sort of thing has happened on the Georgia Campus.
I think back to Knowshon Moreno and the fact that he was our best back as a puppy, but was not used as early as he should have been. Think that he was turning a lot of heads, (players) but somehow we lost a year of his outstanding talent. If the players see it, the coaches at some point have to check what it is that the teammates speak openly about. Happens on a lot of campuses, not just in Athens.
Another situation that still leaves me in a confused state is the handling of Richard Samuel IV. Young man had tools, but of course hind sight gives us a clearer picture. Something like the Monday Morning Quarterbacks. Will always believe that he should have been a linebacker from the get go. Coaches tried that also, but only they know why he was moved back to the offense.
Back to Ken Malcome talk about leaving Athens and us being short of running backs.
When I look at Faton Bauta, I hope that he does not get caught up in the same kind of thing that RSIV went through. Seems that I read a lot about the future at the quarterback position being pretty much wrapped up with our incoming recruit from Camden County. Great if it works out that way. Many of us that live in Florida know that Faton Bauta is talented, tough and moves aside for no one. I will say this . . . . would hate to see him playing for the gators (they wanted him real bad) or any other school that we would face. He chose Georgia and I am glad that he did. Don't waste the talent that Faton has, he only makes us better.
One last thingy . . . . if you watch the video below . . . . who does he remind you of carrying the ball that is currently a huge success for us?
