UGA is far from being a team like that. Does this team have the character to step it up in Columbia West. They better despite the coaching or it will be a looooong ride back to Athens.
ogredawg, while I don't always put a lot of stock in the folks that come out with the ratings on Monday mornings, I will look closely at where Alabama is in the polls along with Georgia and where we will be placed.
Alabama and Michigan played on a neutral field, take away the 3 point home advantage. Alabama also came close to emptying their bench in this game.
We played between the Hedges, home crowd and ratings in the polls on our side. Read what Schultz had to say about the game, some interesting points made.
What I see on the football field is what I witnessed in the 90's at FSU. We are running identical plays, so my guess is that Mike Bobo is continuing what FSU offensive coordinator did in the 90's. While this worked really well for FSU in the 90's, the game has changed so much since then, that those that want to live in the past will also go down in flames.
For John Jenkins to say that he was really upset with himself after the first half . . . . have heard the same being said after many halftimes in the past. Somebody or someone as has been suggested on this board needs to get their act together. Have to believe that McGarity hears all things about our program . . . . to wit: Russ is now UGA IX. He heard the noise. Time for the coaches on the football team to "hear the noise" before it gets handled by McGarity. Folks leaving the stadium by the thousands, loudest cheers coming from a "tiny band" of Buffalo followers, leaves a bad taste in ones mouth.
Question was asked on this site about "Grantham". A very good question me thinks. The way I will answer that is . . . . Big game in Missouri, where will we see improvement coming from . . . the offense or the defense. We all know that if there is no improvment from yesterdays game, the thousands that left early and before halftime will be the same thousands that won't attend many of the future games in Athens . . . tickets in hand or not. McGarity would not be pleased with that turn of events, he as we all remember said to our head coach . . . . coach football, give me everything else, my name is not Evans, I get things done. No excuses.
Edit: Once again I think the game against Buffalo proves the point that has been discussed on this board more than once. If you are going to have a "very successful" football team, must think years ahead and be prepared to keep both offensive and defensive lines at full strength. All college football teams work under the same recruiting rules and numbers of players. Any particular reason that Saban seems to "truly say next man up" and get the results needed year after year. Saban knows that teams are built around the offensive and defensive lines. Not sure we will get the message any time soon, if not, not much will change. Get real po'd Mark Richt, take some of your coaching staff to task, maybe even change some of your thoughts about the way the game is played in 2012. A repeat of last season will not sit well with many.
