wow...

WoodstockDawg, one thing that I am having a hard time wrapping my arms around is the fact that AM went to the Manning Camp, which in truth I feel is a good move. He did not go there however to learn how to hand the ball off, for sure. Leaves me to think that Mike Bobo/Mark Richt will continue to throw the ball around and have no thoughts of using the fullback or tightends.

Not sure how serious the injuries were today to Burnette and Theus. Think I read somewhere that Theus had an ankle problem. You know the game, Theus having to have help coming off of the field . . . not a good sign, especially when it involves the ankle.

Some things might change before Missouri, (I guess) not real sure I am comfortable with those making the changes. Watching other games today after our game was played, really don't have that warm and fuzzy feeling.

If I had to put it on the line . . . . Saw nothing today that I haven't seen in the past four or five years. Saban can do that, (keep the same game plan) Richt cannot afford to do that. Difference in talent . . . . by that I mean coaching talent. One mans opinion. Tunsil decision will tell us a lot about our program.

We used our TE's......to block because our OL is mediacre at best. Buffalo sacked AM at least 4 times in the game plus multiple "hurries". Geez, they NEEDED the TE's to help the OL. Now we are in bigger trouble with Theus out. Our OL has huge flaws.

Ogredawg is dead on. BAMA is better coached than ANY team in the country in all phases of the game and especially mentally. Did you hear McCarron's interview after the game? Total package....mature, disciplined, grounded with great expectations but with the realization of what needs to be done to achieve success. You can tell he has been "schooled" by Saban.......Saban is the best in college football, nobody is even close.

Henderson and Worley are in our backfield again.....run them until they can't run anymore.....and "Mr." AM, take a frickin backseat for a change and try to be compliment a potentially tremendous running game with swing passes, slants, intermediate routes etc instead of trying to look like the hero of the game. Uh, try to emulate Mr. McCarron "if you will."

While most of us realize and have for sometime now, the offensive line does have most of UGA's supporters eyes directly on them. Buffalo from what I could see of their defense were playing games in the "gaps", not unlike what Grantham likes to do, and does.

Theus winning the right tackle spot as a freshman should tell all of us something about the failures if we choose to call them that in offensive thinking the past few seasons. Any time a team needs as much help as we have needed in the past few seasons really needs to do some soul searching.

Theus winning the battle for the tackle position, and if we take it a bit further, Todd Gurley probably took over the running back spot as the number one. Another freshman. Talk was prior to the game opening whistle Rome would or could be "that" tightend that follows in a long list of NFL bound tightends. Basically another freshman, as Rome spent much of his time with the basketball team.

Looking over the long list of offensive players, a bit surprised that AM had to run for his life a few times. wlayton, guess I have to phrase our offensive deficiencies thusly . . . . our leaders have over the past several years shown "huge flaws" in their recruiting and coaching efforts where the offensive line is concerned. The chapter on Will Friend has not been written yet, so I point a finger in the direction of recent history.

Love seeing the effort by the two freshmen running backs. Here is hoping that they don't run into the same kind of thing that Marcus Lattimore had happen. Loved what I saw from the "rookies" but here is hoping that they are used wisely, this is their first SEC season.

"Used wisely" can mean using the tightends or tightend to relieve some of the pressure felt by our offensive line. Couple of passes over the middle, under the cover two has a way of gaining that extra second or two for the offensive line and quarterback to make safer decisions. Sorry, can't put that much on the backs of the offensive line at this point, first game and in my opinion, the mistakes were "coaching mistakes". Basically, it is simple math, we just need a "tutor" at this point.

One thing to send quarterbacks to the NFL, and apparently with the amount of long passes that I saw in the game, Mike Bobo seems to relish in the fact that he is the "quarterback" coach along with his title of "Offensive Coordinator". Mike played quarterback in college, does not seem to recognize that fullbacks can do more than "get in the way" of pass rushers. Sorry, did not see anything yesterday that comes close to having me think we are ready to back up the talk I have heard in the off season.

Lastly, when Mark Richt came off of the field at halftime, he was as upset as I have ever seen the man. Question . . . . who is he mad at? Does he anticipate changes other than laying it all on the players . . . . just asking.

Not giving up, just looking closer at details. Go Dawgs, all old farts like me can do is call it like I see it, along with many others that I have read in this thread.

Edit: Just picked this clip up. After listening, would suggest to Mark Richt's concern about ball control, might want to try that with our offense rather than trying to hit a home run so often. Fullbacks, tailbacks, two tightend sets, there are ways to change the number of plays/time the opposition gets. Speak to Mike about that Mark. Just saying . . .

I really enjoyed watching a well coached team dismantle a very good Michigan team wlayton.

UGA is far from being a team like that. Does this team have the character to step it up in Columbia West. They better despite the coaching or it will be a looooong ride back to Athens.

Nama played well but I am not going to call Michigan a very good team. They have a running qb that lost or didn't have all of his weapons from the year before. Michigan is a subpar defense.

Regardless of what bama did, I was not very impressed with our Dawgs. However, not ready to throw in the white flag yet. Saw some good things yesterday and saw some really disappointing things. However, we won with ease and I never feared we weren't going to won't that game.

Really a meaningless game to me though. Even if
We had won 100-0 and given up 5 total yards I wouldn't have felt that great just like I am not ready to cancel the season cause we didn't.

Lot to work on no doubt but it wasn't near as bad as I get the feeling. I had a neutral friend read this particular blog and after reading and not watching the game, he thought we lost by 20. Just saying.

Get to work. Mizzou is a much better squad than the bulls.

Go Dawgs.

Tell your friend who read the blog and thought we lost by 20, this:

It felt that way because if we had played a decent opponent; we would have lost by 20.

Just sayin'

God Bless and Go Dawgs
