Coaching, Recruiting Thoughts

Think I am close to right here. Please correct me if I am missing someone. Notice anything about our recruiting. Not a great amount of experience along that offensive line. Appears to me that Friend has his work cut out for himself this season. Maybe he can make up for others short comings, Coach Grantham certainly did.

Mario Alford is being mentioned as the “mystery player”. I would bet that he is all that, still have a question. How is it that we can find the speed merchants, can’t find the folks that make their lives glamorous.

Offensive Tackles
Austin Long, 6’5” - 304
Watts Dantzler 6’7” - 310
Mark Beard 6’4” - 290 . . . 2012 Signee
Greg Pike 6’6” - 315 . . . 2012 Signee
John Theus 6’6” - 292 . . . 2012 Signee

Offensive Guards
Kenarious Gates 6’5” - 328
Chris Burnette 6’2” - 313

Center
David Andrews 6’2” - 280

Tight End
Arthur Lynch 6’5” - 272
Jay Rome 6’6” - 240

AllDawgs5 might be that you and I don't understand what is being said. There will always be different points of view. Hard for me to hang tough with a coaching system that has been in place for 11 years, then I scan the above.

If you are saying that I have turned my back on the 18-22 year old players, you should certainly point that out to me and where I said anything close to that. My problem is with a head coach that is over 50 years of age and is not showing improvement, would say that he is in decline.

While I certainly am not a spring chicken, neither is Richt.

For those that have not read the link below, here comes Nick Saban again. Will be interesting to see how this recruiting war plays out.

Guess I read where you said watch for the Empty Seats in Sanford Stadium. Seemeds as you were putting the blame on Adams and CMR. Maybe I followed that wrong. If grown adults are going to prove a point by punishing young men, then shame on them. If that is not what you were implying then.

Keep hearing so much negativity about our offense. We had a QB who broke many school records this year. We had a freshman RB that would have rushed for over 1,000 yds had he been able to keep his act together. We had a freshman WR who received much national attention. How do you have that with such a terrible offense? Weird how ESPN and other grading agencies didn't think our offense was nearly as terrible as I am reading on this board.

Let's just be honest, many on this board are not going to be happy until 1 of 2 things happen:

1. We win the NC.
2. Richt and Bobo are fired.

On a side note, You want to call out special teams, no argument from me.

GO DAWGS

We also had a head coach that didn't even make an attempt to get the ball a bit closer
and settled for a 40+ yard FG attempt when his kicker had been terrible from 40+ all
season.

We also rolled up those impressive offensive stats against a very weak schedule of
opponents. I don't really like thumping my chest when I outclass obviously inferior
opponents. I judge how well I do against those capable of competing closely with me.
When we really needed yards against a tough opponent, we 3 and outed more often than not and handed the ball back to them and then watched them beat us.

Oh and just for the record.. I am not one to demand NC's.

What I do demand is not cracking jokes with the other team while your offense is about
to give the ball back to the other team when they have a chance to still win the game.

I would also probably demand we don't leave scholarships on the table when we have had
O-line problems for 3 years running. Along the same vein.. I might also demand we stop recruiting QB #5 when we have such a glaring need on the O-line.

Buc said it best. Richt is DENSE. D-E-N-S-E. As in "not very bright".

We may even luck up one day and stumble backwards into the SEC crown and maybe even
a NC. Our university can certainly attract the athletes to be able to do that... but
believe you me... it wont be because of the coaching acumen of CMR.

God Bless and Go Dawgs
