Tip of the cap to CMR

Wasn't pointing out any particular comment that anyone made. It was a general comment because I feel many are giving Mac credit for some things he didn't have a hand in. I think Mac has done much good for our program. My only point was that it seems people want to give Mac credit for CTG. He receives no credit for that. I am sure CMR had pressure to fire WM, but I also think he did it on his own. He realized it was time because I don't think DE would have fired him anyway. Who knows though? Really irrelevant cause the main thing that matters to me is we got CTG. Don't care how we got him here, but thankfully he ended up here.

I mainly give Mac credit for giving CMR the necessities he needed to get this thing straightened out a little. Believe everyone on the board has coached or led a group, we all know that it is usually all the extra garbage associated with a job, that makes it harder to focus on what the true task at hand is. Great job by Mac. Off the field problems have also seemed to decrease under Mac. Definitely deserves a lot of credit for that as well. But the player leadership on this team deserves some credit for that.

I think you hit the nail on the head, AD5.
There is definitely leadership ON the field that has been missing for a LONG time.

I have been on the island for some time now. In that time it gives one time for self reflection. I am proud of what CMR has accomplished at UGA this year, but it couldn't be done without a good supporting cast. Everyone has stepped up to the challenge and the results are there. The biggest improvement is obviously on defense. The offense has also improved throughout the year, but not to the degree that the defense has. That could be because the D had further to go. Anyway, both are playing together and that makes the team better.

I think all of us wanted to be competitive and we are THIS YEAR. The test will be if UGA can sustain the level of competitiveness it displayed this year. Yes, you can talk about the soft schedule. However, winning 10 consecutive games in the SEC is an accomplishment that has not gone unnoticed in the national media.

I feel we are headed in the right direction, but that does not mean that I, as well as all of you, will not be analyzing our progress very closely. If I don't think something is working, I will call attention to it. I don't want us to rest on our current success. We can improve and be better.

In the meantime, I will bask in the sunshine, enjoy this season for what is was, and look forward to filling some key positions for next year. And as always...GO Dawgs! Beat LSU
