It was no fun watching AM running for his life last year.
The game is won on the line of scrimmage.

You have been here for a long time, and here again I can only speak my mind. I have read every post that you have placed on this board since I have been a member, not sure that I can disagree with more than 1 or 2% of them. You said sometime back kentdaddy, it is not necessary for one to have played the game to understand it. Truer words have never been spoken.

Maybe not a good example (for UGA fans) however, Charlie Weis is now the offensive coordinator at Florida, chosen by a former Bulldog, now Head Coach to run the UF offense. Charlie also had the reigns at Notre Dame, not a plus on his record, but the other side of the coin is that Super Bowl Ring that he was flashing in Atlanta this week. Good coordinator, maybe not head coach, but he has a place that suits him and the team.

More than once I have posted that I think Richt is a true Offensive Coordinator, one of the best. At some point he was for sure, National Championship and winning seasons, hard to argue with that success. Got him hired at UGA. That was FSU, many years back, now it comes down to UGA and the teams that we play.

I appreciate the fact that Richt wants to stay in Athens for the remainder of his career. He has said that publicly, more than once. Richt staying in Athens would make me a happy camper, means he is getting the job done. I am in the corner of those that think McGarity will not accept the results we have had to live with coming out of JAX for far too long. Never want to see Richt apologizing to the likes of Urban Meyer for the end zone incident. You can't live with the fact that you let the players do that, don't do it.

This business of losing seasons will never set well with season ticket holders. Too many, probably most of the folks sitting in the stadium want more than they have seen in the past few years. If . . . if we are ready for the schedule that we have this season, it could very well be a "fresh start". I sure hope we are competitive, anything less will cost folks not only their jobs, the University of Georgia will feel the pressure of the economy. FACT.

At some point the talk has to stop and the results of good football have to float to the top. Seems every year for the past few years it has been one excuse after another. How can we have top recruiting classes and drop like we have recently? All I have to do is look at the young men coming out of UGA and moving to the NFL. NFL seems to think that UGA's players are special.

I said at the end of last season that I was not going to buy into all of the hype that I knew would be coming to the forefront. (Had a suspicion anyway). Also said that pressure makes an individual either kick ass or fold on the mat. There is a tremendous amount of talent in Athens, also in every other SEC city that proudly flies their colors.

Meetings coming up in Destin, Florida. One of the big issues is gray shirting, too many scholarships not being used properly, kids being kicked to the curb. Slive says that he likes a plan that is forth coming. (That scares the you know what out of me). Slive and every other conference in the country now is shaking in their cleats. Was not a problem until the NCAA allowed OSU to do what they wanted to do. That will be watched in my home for sure.

kentdaddy, the game used to be for the fans, guess now it is for the bankers. Can't use a capital letter for bankers. Know there are many bankers that graduated from UGA, hope those that are bankers play by the rules.

Go Dawgs . . . coach'em up!!

I am with you Buc.

I can forgive not winning if the effort, discipline and attitude is there, but that has not been the case.

I too believe McGarity has a quick trigger finger for mediocrity. I like that. Either produce or leave.

My rant about bankers will have to wait for another forum. I was on the inside during the housing bubble so I saw a lot of things. Lots and lots of people who should be in jail will not be.

kentdaddy know a litte about the housing bubble (crisis). That like football comes back to leadership. Barney Frank/Timothy Geithner and many others. . . will stop there.

I still live with the UCF/UGA game. Gators laugh at the outcome of that game. Even though the Gators did not accomplish that much on the field, the margins between UF and UGA were enough for them to get the last word. The folks down here say that UGA played two Florida teams and laugh at the results.

So right on not giving up. Like the field goal inside the ten. Strange how our offensive line coach went to Texas after that game. Maybe Texas knows something that we don't. Our efforts in the recent past sure look like coaching mistakes, to me.

Couple of hard butt ex-NFL coaches on the D side of the ball could be the reason that Richt is turning bad as you know what. Didn't take long to change the S&C way of doing things. Not everyone is a leader. We will find out soon enough under McGarity. Our schedule is prime for us to make hay. Excuses be damned.

As one who has built homes for 38 years, I can honestly say, it's never ever been as dismal as right now.
As housing goes, goes the economy.
Don't tell people like me, invested professionals, the economy is improving.
Total BS.

Total smoke and mirrors coming out of Washington averagedawg. Lots of federal jobs being opened up. Does not say much for folks like yourself that help build that government by the people and for the people. Thousands of jobs to be opened up in South Carolina at Boeing, what was the call . . . . Feds say you can't do that. Keep the doors open for France and others to build the aircraft.

Just like football, needs an overhaul, too many handshakes.
