I agree Buc about calling out players. I have done it in the past, and I shouldn't have. But some players deserve to be called out. I am changing my stance. I will not call a player out by name for their play anymore. However, players that can't follow the rules of the land, deserve to be called out. Obviously those guys think they are due special treatment anyway.
I am kind of curious to see what Richt does. Needs to do his homework, but needs to do at an accelerated pace. I would like to see Coach Nall come, but I don't think he will leave his current job for unstable future he would be taking on. Maybe if Richt's seat wasn't so hot, but not now.
GO DAWGS
Totally in line with you regarding the first paragraph.
You know, where Richt is at this point, only he can change the football team for the better, meaning overall. Maybe IC and some others will change his fortunes at UGA. Walker sure put longevity on VD's stay between the Hedges. Sometimes it is one thing or person that turns a football team around . . . I believe if the incoming class ends up being what everyone is wishing for, it could be Richt's saving grace. Maybe that hot seat did get hot enough for him to realize that there are those of us out here that can't be talked down to when it is possible there are some that are much more knowledgable than he is.
Many times a head coach is hired and it totally backfires. That is not the case with the Dean of SEC Head Coaches. Richt had the good fortune to land at a place where football is a religion. He is a religious man . . . TIC. Stop it. Football today is not like it was when VD came to the University of Georgia. It is win or hit the unemployment line.
No one knows better than Richt that this is it. As has been said, he would be hired elsewhere, but don't we all think that leaves a bitter taste.
I am moving over to the other side. Grantham said what all of us wanted to hear when he came on board. In my opinion, his first real test is one Ray Drew. If Drew gets away, say to Auburn, and I think with Rocker being there, it is more than talk, would not surprise me at all.
If Grantham comes away from the recruiting wars with Drew and Jenkins, I would say he has lived up to his opening speech. If those two get away, Grantham's stock will fall with me. I want Grantham to be responsible for two players, needed players according to all that profess to know and understand football. Those two would or should be what is needed next year to put teeth back into the Dawg Defense. These are players that fall under Grantham's tent. A large part of college coaching is recruiting, so . . . Grantham I hope you are a good recruiter.
One thing that worries me is Drew's statement about wanting to play in a 4/3, prefers it over the 3/4. We can bet that Rocker is playing that card. It is not like Grantham did not use the 4 man front last season, did it a lot.
We have players on defense.

The word is that Searels got out while the gettings good.
Read a piece or two in the media that he was not sure about the future of the situation involving the coaching staff. Guess all of us can find fault with any area of the coaching staff. averagedawg, I really tried to focus on the top, also knowing that the "top" was not the only problem. We are going to know a lot more about next seasons team in a few days.
It is a little like Christmas to me . . . . not knowing for sure what is under the tree, can't wait to open the package. This could be an incredibly good gift or gifts . . . . crossed fingers that everyone is happy.
Searels found himself a really good opening and no doubt in my mind that he will make the most of it. averagedawg, gives me reason to watch a bit closer the happenings of UT. You know the UT that I mean. Kind of like they say it "Burnt Orange". Don't care how it is spelled, feel that a part of Trion and UGA will help Brown's program. Makes one wonder about some that say Coach Searels is not worth a flip. Program he is going to won't be down long, too many athletes in Texas for that to happen. Good luck to a Great Coach.

He might be a great coach but he did not do a great job of coaching last 2 years... at least.
I say good riddance

This is what makes the board interesting.
bulldawg36869, think that is the second time I have seen you make mention you were glad to see coach Searels leave. Maybe you could go into that a bit deeper. Maybe a little pro and con here on what Coach Searels did factually and what he did not do factually.
I will start for openers if you like. Or don't.
His second year here did one of the best patch work jobs I have seen at any school. Talent is one thing, injured talent is another.
Your turn.
