Well its official.
AJC "Texas has completed its deal with Stacy Searels and plans an announcement later Thursday afternoon of his hire as offensive line coach."
Let the name game begin. Who is our next OL coach?
Buc, I try to be reasonable although at times my emotions for the DAWGS get the best of me. I have been reading this board for many years. My post are infrequent, mostly because my opinion gets expressed. This is a really good board to follow with yourself, and many others contributing. I just hope reason can be found by our AD in the coming year(s).

AllDawgs5 here is hoping that you get your wish for a NC. Seems that we only get those when many years pass between each.
Feel sure you are aware of the "Valdosta Twosome" coming on board last evening. One of the things that excites me is the flexibility this gives to our offense. In the case of one, the defense also.
Here is where I am with our offense. Open it up, too many athletes with talent in the "so called skill positions" and now adding more not to change the way we attack other D's. Please don't come out again in the upcoming season and run the same plays in the same situations over and over. It will get your butt fired, maybe that is the way this will happen.
One quote you made that really interested me was keeping OC at TE. I agree he is excellent there and what I noticed this past season, he created openings for Green and Durham, that was not a one way street. There were many plays where the safety was dropping in to help the linebackers. Makes those wideouts look real good catching and running.
With Rome coming in, I will never believe that anything short of him being promised he would not just get playing time, but substantial playing time. Let us not make the same mistake that we made with KM. If we have OC and JR on the field at the same time, one tight, the other slot or two tight end sets, that will drive other defenses nuts. Especially the linebackers. AM has the arm and wheels (when allowed to use them) to have an incredible year with the talent available to him.
Yep, offensive line and candidates for playing time this year are going to learn natiness from their S&C crew. These coaches have a reputation for that. When they come out of the weight room and hit the practice field, we are going to have more sparring this season among ourselves. That is a good thing. Wind sprints never hurt game time conditioning, did not like them during the week. Conditioning and nastiness, that is my wish. Not dirty, nasty, there is a difference.
I did not mention running backs, but will now, why not . . .
Ken Malcome is going to be the surprise of the upcoming season on offense. Came in at 6' 218 or so pounds. He has had a year at UGA now, thinking he is probably at 225 with the added muscle. In the weight room now, maybe this young man plays at a solid 225. This might be one of the "brighter" things that the coaching staff did in not playing KM (Ken Malcome). No doubt in my mind this young man is playing. Ran on the high school track team, ran the 100 and 200 I think.
OK, enough. Will say again, coaches better get this right, no excuses, talent is in Athens. If you can't make hay with these players, time to consider dominos or Chinese checkers.
Go Dawgs.

Another piece of film. Notice most of the folks trying to tackle KM prefer to hit him at angles. If they are caught in a situation where they have to go helmet to helmet, you folks be the judge. This type of runner has been missed at UGA. I want someone who is willing to stick his nose in there, and KM will.
