Please name those "dudes". Searels produced no NFL 1st round linemen at LSU

Since Richt has been at UGA, we have produced 2. George Foster and John Sullivan.

Furthers my point by your post, you believe the problem is Richt. You believe somehow he chagned the way Searels produced linemen.

And in recruiting, I would say Searels gets to choose who he goes after. Whether they get those kids to sign, that could be blamed on Richt. But not who they are signing. Believe I saw a list of kids we signed. According to the rankings, which I do discount, it seems we haven't been doing to bad considering O line doesn't seem to get the stars that other positions get.

Like I have said, if you want to put the blame on Richt because he is the head of staff so to say, I am fine with that. But in doing so, the people underneath him also helped to the create the problem.

I am sure Searels will do a good job. With exception of the last 2 years, I thought he did a nice job for us.

He is going to work for a great HC. I believe he went 5-7 last year.

Foster was under Callaway; Sullivan was a DLmen. Searels had no input.

Ill find the OLmen while searels was there-bet you they had more higher draft picks than he did while at UGA

alldawg, here you go: You be the judge

In four years as the Tigers’ offensive line coach, he has coached two First-Team All-Americans in Stephen Peterman and Ben Wilkerson and a Second-Team All-American in Andrew Whitworth.

Searels coached five former Tigers to roster spots in the NFL, with Whitworth being a second round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2006; Peterman a fourth round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2004; and Wilkerson, Niswanger and Nate Livings signing free agent contracts.
Searels' 2004 offensive line consisted of a Rimington Award winner (Ben Wilkerson) along with First-Team All-SEC offensive tackle Whitworth. Despite having eight different starting combinations on the offensive line, LSU still managed to lead the SEC in rushing with over 193 yards per contest.

OLmen drafted under Searels at UGA:

2008: Chester Adams Round 7
2009: NONE

2010: NONE (But there were OLmen taken from Morhead State, West Texas State, and Vanderbilt in the late rounds;but UGA could manage none.)
2011: remains to be seen.

But in three full years, he produced one Olman in the 7th; at LSU in 4 years he produced a 2nd and a 4th.

You tell me, did he forget how to coach? Or did he forget how to evaluate? Or is it CMr’s fault as the head man? I find it hard to believe that richt doesn’t have say over who is given a free ride.

AD5 let me give this another shot.

Richt has in his own words, let me say again. Richt in his own words has said he took his eyes off of the ball. I did not say that, Richt did. I do agree with Richt on that point however. That did not start this season, check the records.

You seem to say that once the coach or person is hired, Richt's job is done. That person may be the very best or worst coach ever, it does however fall into Richt's basket. You have flashed your credentials on this board, so you should understand that MOST teams, head coaches and their assistants get together before the next game and plan for such. The game plan is on the football field during practice. You do understand that or you are misleading me and others here. You are making some statements that make me wonder. Read some of your past posts and threads . . . are those assumptions or facts as you know them or think they should be.

You posted . . . Offense was good at times. Not contradicting anything. They put up numbers to win games. The O Line flat out blew many assignments. Chemistry. I am willing to bet that Searels decided who was on the field together.

I guess that when the offense was good as you say, Coach Searels must have been good, Richt did not have his eyes on the ball, because Richt does not interfere with his position coaches. He leaves that up to his assistants and others, as has been stated in this thread.

Maybe Searels was just lucky on the drive inside the five yard line in Memphis. His luck ran out, Richt stepped up and made his infamous decision to take away any chance the offense had to put six on the board. Take it any way you want pal, that offensive line did not quit on Coach Searels, they along with many of us saw what happened. They stopped playing for Richt.

Sometimes folks ask too many questions that ultimately backfire on them. Read, understand, post.
