AD5 let me give this another shot.
Richt has in his own words, let me say again. Richt in his own words has said he took his eyes off of the ball. I did not say that, Richt did. I do agree with Richt on that point however. That did not start this season, check the records.
You seem to say that once the coach or person is hired, Richt's job is done. That person may be the very best or worst coach ever, it does however fall into Richt's basket. You have flashed your credentials on this board, so you should understand that MOST teams, head coaches and their assistants get together before the next game and plan for such. The game plan is on the football field during practice. You do understand that or you are misleading me and others here. You are making some statements that make me wonder. Read some of your past posts and threads . . . are those assumptions or facts as you know them or think they should be.
You posted . . . Offense was good at times. Not contradicting anything. They put up numbers to win games. The O Line flat out blew many assignments. Chemistry. I am willing to bet that Searels decided who was on the field together.
I guess that when the offense was good as you say, Coach Searels must have been good, Richt did not have his eyes on the ball, because Richt does not interfere with his position coaches. He leaves that up to his assistants and others, as has been stated in this thread.
Maybe Searels was just lucky on the drive inside the five yard line in Memphis. His luck ran out, Richt stepped up and made his infamous decision to take away any chance the offense had to put six on the board. Take it any way you want pal, that offensive line did not quit on Coach Searels, they along with many of us saw what happened. They stopped playing for Richt.
Sometimes folks ask too many questions that ultimately backfire on them. Read, understand, post.
