yankeedawg1, Kirby Smart is in my opinion doing things the "right way".
Watched muschamp at his opening press conference in South Carolina. A continuation of someone that does not understand the "overall" way nor has the ability to put an "entire" game plan together. Game plan meaning a head coach that makes sure and safe steps in the right direction of leadership.
Many here and elsewhere held their breath when the media was continually mentioning the friendship between muschamp and Smart. Was not going to happen and Kirby Smart knew that. Leader that he is, kept his mouth shut, some of that experience gained under Nick Saban. The muschamp conversation had my attention for sure.
There is no way that Kirby Smart is going to pick a name out of the hat and go with that. Not a doubt in my mind way before many of us knew for sure that Kirby Smart was coming to Georgia, Kirby knew who he wanted to hire as his offensive coordinator.
A lot of the beat writers and media hype is trying to put some pressure on Kirby to step out quickly. Kirby knows that the first step could be a "quick sand" move, another reason that he will be very successful as UGA Head Coach.
Simply this . . . . a very good offensive coordinator at one university might not be nearly as good at another university. There is a reason many successful folks take the time to "avoid the quick sand".
Georgia is in my opinion at a crossroads NOW. Much is expected of the head coach, at the same time there will be pressure on those above the head coach to take care of certain details . . . . like leaking pp pipes. Believe all of us need to be watchful, not let the hiring of Kirby Smart take us away from "areas of concern". JMHO.
