The more CMR speaks the more I shake my head, knowing special teams has been on a decline for six years and not doing what it takes to fix it and last year giving up on punt returns by just playing punt safe is ridiculous. The sad thing is what all else is he sleep walking on. On the CBM thing I once quit a job over a token raise just saying.

DAWGtm, our program needed a kick in the butt. I cross my fingers hoping that what I have seen and heard thus far with the coaching changes carries over . . . . meaning a new beginning, haven't had one of those in years.
Don't really expect Richt to say he has been "wrong", won't happen. Actually don't need apologies, need for our head coach to leave those alone that have a "game plan".

Enjoyed catching up with all the good comments. Many things have looked to have improved yes we still need to see it
on the field. Much work left to be done. IMO we keep the Godfather out of the way more good things will happen
Mac needs to get the checkbook out and pony up a raise for CBM Does not need to wait until it becomes a counter offer

Just don't see how "they" can justify NOT paying him more money for the job he has done and also has been such a class act for the school.
His loyalty is unquestioned in my mind.
Commented on this once, went back and read the post again. Truth. Coach McClendon is a class act. Along with that "business card" McGarity . . . .

From where I sit, Coach McClendon has worked his way up. Now it is time for the "Scrooge's" in Athens to wake up and realize just what they have.

My question is this. Why is it we seem to change our conditioning program, year after year? Does that make sense to anyone other than me?
Seems to me that the successful SEC programs don't go through conditioning program changes year after year, as we do. Remember this little thingy, just asking. When I read what one of our Seniors said below, makes me think that something is not "quite right". Or maybe has not been for 13 or so years.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MD: Coach Richt has talked this offseason about getting leaner and playing better in space, has the way you condition been different this offseason?
Herrera: Yeah, we're conditioning differently, running shorter distances more explosively with more reps. Everything is just fast. And the rest periods have been cut down a lot because that's how football games are. It's just changing the whole conditioning process.
Trying to stay on course. Herrera said . . . .It's just changing the whole conditioning process.
That comes from a Senior. A Senior that has seen S&C change more than once since his arrival on campus.
Folks, our program has been an absolute farce for far too long. What we are not doing is simple. We are in the middle of our conference. Sometimes those that should not beat us . . . . do. On occasion we beat an LSU. Book last season was LSU was 3.5 or close to that beating us, between the Hedges.
Ask a question. 2015 Alabama and Georgia face off. Question is this . . . . What would our chances be winning the game if we had grantham or martinez? Do we improve our chances of winning with a "former Alabama coach" on our side?
Now we have our head coach talking about getting lighter and faster? Just where the hell did that come from? Did Richt wake up one morning and say . . . . "Need to change our S&C again"?
Comes back to that LEADERSHIP thingy that has been brought up. NC_Dawg hit it face on in the thread he started. If you have not read it, worth taking a look.
Thanks to players and former players for standing up and saying some of the things that some of the board members have said on this site.
Looking forward to your "Blue Plate Special" tomorrow yankeedawg1.
