Couple things. Hearing the word fundamentals being used by both CJP and yes MR

Been awhile since I heard that word being used in Athens

I spoke several. Times about not wanting to trade our problems for those of anyone else in college football. Stand buy that

Many new faces in the SEC both East an West. What was is history

yankeedawg1, was going to cool it a bit on the grantham thing, but like most folks that have ego's as large as his, can't let him get away with some of the things he is using the press for in Louisville.

First thing grantham needs to understand is his importance to a football team is not moving upward, seems to me he keeps losing a step or two. He has not made a stop yet that anyone has considered him head coaching material, based on his volume of work. Lots of head coaching opportunities have become available recently, lets him know that he ain't all that.

grantham hired on as defensive coordinator, now he is going to take on the responsibility of teaching the players how to to defend against the forward pass. That in my opinion is a classic case of "I will show folks what I wanted in Athens". Another thing that passes through my head is grantham knew that Pruitt had been hired to replace him, also knew that Pruitt was known for COACHING UP DEFENSIVE BACKS. Folks, the show is on. Pruitt said he would be involved with the DB's. Like the way this is stacking up.

YD1, remember well you saying this . . . . I spoke several times about not wanting to trade our problems for those of anyone else in college football. Stand by that.

Won't see any interference from richt, this is Pruitt's call.

Feel sure Pruitt already knows who he intends to add to his staff. Think that Coach Chris Wilson would have stayed if Pruitt had not already lined up his replacement. Pruitt does not strike me as a person that delays getting the job done. This could be a very good hire. One more to go and then it really gets interesting. Pruitt is not going to stop at being a defensive coordinator. That was probably tossed about also somewhere in the conversation with his hiring.

Toddy is like Joe Biden the gift that keeps on giving what is of interest to me is the HC at
Louisville now has a built in fall guy

Toddy is sitting with 5 mil plus on the table for the next five years

Yelling do pay well !!!!

Me thinks some HS players who have not committed and few who have just may be doing some serious thinking

I got a strong feeling we will see a big name recruit flip to the Dawgs by NSD

Also like CJP quite no coach speak out working the streets taking care of business

Go Dawgs

Can'tham did well to move out of the SEC. I actually expect he'll do the same thing there he did here... First year or two with kids already there (and that have heen recently coached up on tackling), he'll probably do okay. Then like every job he's had dating back to Cleveland, his performance will get worse as time goes on.

Can't tell you though what I think about Louisville
after they rehired Petrino. Not the bastion of integrity right there... Anyway, that conference is more Todd's "speed".

Love the fact Godwin chose us. He's played WR, but his future is probably at corner and many think he's got lockdown potential. Pruitt is a former DB coach. Doesn't take long to figure out
why he might have chosen us.

Solid sign right there... Speed and skills... more talent, and we already know we get talent.

It's just been what we do with the talent we get that's been lacking.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Not to put a damper on the recent spirit raising, but think most of us know that with change, sometimes expectations get a little out of hand. Not a bad thing, fans being upbeat does have an effect on potential players and their decisions.

The cloud that was hanging over Athens for the recent past, has moved on because of some decision making that probably should have happened sooner.

While some don't like to hear me say this, it is just me expressing my views on problems that I think I see.

First off, richt was here before mcgarity. richt has had problems that as some of the media giants said, put him on the hot set. So, that was a problem before mcgarity. richt's decisions as I have mentioned several times on the board are a duplicate copy of what I saw happen in Tallahassee.

mark richt is not the kind of leader that can make decisions quickly. Many folks on this planet have the same problem. While he was being patted on the back for the quick hire of Jeremy Pruitt, that is the fastest he has moved since being chased by a defensive lineman when playing quarterback. Some fans think that is a plus when discussing richt, others say not. I am one of those that says not.

richt's hires and failures with those he has hired does not prove to me that he is capable of running a "football machine". That is what most of us want, but sadly we are no closer today than we were yesterday. Jeremy Pruitt has the opportunity to help move the program forward, he does not have the "power" that will allow him to make wholesale changes. That in my mind is putting a two inch bandaid on a 4 inch wound.

The recent problems in Athens did not start recently, all any of us had to do was watch press conferences and the words used by those running the football team. richt and grantham were never on the same page, don't think they were from the beginning. grantham with his ego and having coached in the NFL thought he was better equipped than anyone in Athens when it came to football.

richt on the other hand became an emotionless robot on the sidelines. In my way of thinking, he was pouting and lost when it came to leadership. Something else some don't like to hear, Nick Saban would not put up with that for one minute. Coaches like Saban, and there are others that not only show emotion, they act when they see problems that can and do have an effect on "his/their" programs. That is the problem with richt, UGA has never been "his" program. Evans did things with scheduling and other things of course that were done without richt's approval. Evans did not need richt's approval.

Supposedly mcgarity had a serious sit down with the head coach and from that discussion, what has changed? Football is a business, and it has to be ran as such or the results don't meet expectations.

OK. There will be much joy over this late Christmas gift, Jeremy Pruitt. I like Pruitt being here if for the only reason being todd grantham's butt is out of Athens. We still have a 2 inch bandaid on a 4 inch wound.

Been around a while, have seen fans happy and sad. Happens often over the years. Still takes leadership to provide what the fans are looking for. Fans don't get paid the money that coaches are these days. Upsets folks when we see leadership walking the halls of Butts-Mehre making 3 + million and new comers in the $850,000 range. Much is to be expected when that kind of money is being passed around. Now signs are that Mike Bobo is due for another raise. If the past few years mean anything, he is the only one that deserves a raise, outside of McClendon and a couple others.

If anyone believes that throwing money at the problem will be a cure all . . . . think about this . . . . leadership in Athens threw a hefty raise to todd grantham . . . . what were the results from that?

One more thing. grantham going to coach the defensive backs in Louisville. grantham hired Lakatos to be a part of his defensive team in Athens, coach the defensive backs. Appears to me that both richt and grantham have problems (people problems) when it comes to hiring folks. As far as Jeremy Pruitt, all I really know is what I hear and read. Appears that Coach Will Friend played a big part in his hire. This much I do know . . . . talk is cheap. Here is hoping that Pruitt is more than talk, many seem to think that way.

Missing link has been mentioned above. Another problem that needs immediate help is the offensive line. Will never stop saying that until someone realizes just how important those young pups are. Heading into the 2014 Season and that part of the lineup is still not settled.

Good luck Pruitt, believe you already know the challenges you face. Not players, have lots of potentially outstanding SEC players, it is those that sit above you. JMO.

I am willing to wait until I see more before passing judgement on the hire and the results we get for our money.

The sun shines on a different Dawg every day
