I used to ridicule Les Miles as being dumb, but at least he mans up after a loss and shoulders the blame.
Probably think he's one coach who would have done more with our talent.

I don't think Les Miles is the smartest tool in the shed, but he has the mentality of a true leader.

He is surrounded with quality help, and he knows when to let his coaches coach. He knows when to step in and say something when it's needed, and he takes full responsibility for what goes on underneath him.

You don't have to be a member of Mensa to do those things.

there is no way to know the answer to that unless all the coaches in the SEC rotated jobs each year. But in my country boy opinion, the following coaches who have been in the SEC at some point in CMR's reign would fair better than CMR.

The 100% LOCKS:

1. Saban of course
2. Spurrier
3. Meyer
4. Rich Brooks*******
5. Holtz

The rest most likely, though who knows???:

1. Franklin
2. Malzhan
3. Miles
4. Petrino (assuming he had better talent on D being in georgia)
5. Fulmer

Maybe/Maybe not.

1. Hamlin
2. Tuberville

other than that, as bad as our guy has been, unless there is an obvious one I'm just drawing a blank on, I'll take CMR over the rest.

I don't see ANY on that list that would have done WORSE (Hamlin? did you mean Sumlin? if so add him for sure to the top list) and for me, you could add Petrino, Malzhan and maybe Miles to the top list (still not sure about Miles....I'm not sure he knows what school he coaches for but his results speak for themselves, I guess)

Don't get me wrong here, on all accounts. After reading this post my mind went to our current hire as defensive coordinator. Realize we are talking about head coaches.

Allow me this. Miles players play for him. Full speed, and if you ask anyone that has played for him, 99% will say they love the guy. Athletes allowed to play the game of football "full tilt" not only appreciate the fact they are doing that, they appreciate the coach that allows them to do that.

Am I saying that Pruitt and Miles are on the same scale when taking the Mensa test, no. Sometimes the difference between miniscule and great, not a huge gap.

Know that I am a bit off course here guys, but I do believe we are going to see some of the things happen in Athens that we have "longed for". Will not be because of mark richt, at this point it has to be Jeremy Pruitt and the "Alabama Gang". Talking football, not NASCAR. Some will understand that statement.

Les Miles is the fox in the hen house. Believe that. Anyone think that LSU plays fast? They have not been taught the "arm waving defense" employed in Athens, and that my Brothers started before todd grantham. I said that.

I realize that some just dont like CMR,for whatever reasons, and some just like him, for whatever reasons, but, say we win a NC in the next couple of years, will it really matter who is standing on the sidelines. For me I think that the game has passed CMR by and he's keeping his job because those in charge are afraid the next head coach might actually challenge the decisions made by them and they will lose some modecum of control. I would like to see a new HC,just like a lot of my friends here, but, don't want just anyone looking for a job. In short, as long as we start winning meaningful games, they can start calling Russ head coach. GO RUSS!!!!!!!
