Only own this board are there real fans that want real results.
I think all fans want real results. Now bear with me here for just a moment.
In fairness, and as many here were more than willing to point out as recently as 2013, our record during the
MR tenure is as good (better) than any other time dating back to a brief period known as the Herschel years.
So where we run into the issue is what defines "real results", and what do we here see and know that the casuals
don't. The casual sees that very recently we were supposedly 5 yards or whatever away from the Crystal.
We here know that we had an on the field leader that basically willed us to be there in spite of what was going
on around him.
We were furious that 6 or 7 NFL caliber defensive players were basically trucked that entire game, but the casual
only remembers an unfortunate pass deflection.
The casual sees UGA in MR's tenure compared to the past, and they don't see the absolute fact that we have fallen
short when it comes to what should have been.
That's what makes the casual fan, casual, folks.
They are judging us based on a bar that MR himself set, and on the MR scale... we're doing fine.
What happens in Alabama is because Nick Saban set the bar, and Nick Saban's bar has always been on one thing.
Anything else is failure.
So we lament the casual fans who don't demand the same excellence we here demand, but that is misguided to some
degree.
We all know what we should lament, and we're all now on one page.
All that we should lament is the program's leaders who set the bar too low. When McGarity and our HC demand excellence of themselves, we wont have to worry about the casual fanbase.
