Dont laugh,it happened to Kiffen. This whole things a merry go round.
It's definitely disheartening that we couldn't get "our" boy to come "home", but Kirby was here as a player and coach with the glorious Michael Adams. In between that and seeing the difference up close and personal between MR and Nick Saban... I can almost understand. I think the only chance we would ever have would be to offer him the HC job.
I don't think he would have come back here as DC under Richt had we offered him $1.5MM. Think about this... his wife played BBall for UGA, but nope...that family is perfectly happy just staying in Tuscaloosa. There's something
wrong with that picture. Either we wouldn't pony up the $, or he wasn't getting on a pony led by MR no matter how
shiny it was. Either way... it's a problem.
Such is life at UGA.... MR is here until his contract is up, me thinks... might as well just hope that young, hungry, and capable assistants can keep us afloat. Maybe MR can just be like a cardboard cutout that we roll into recruits houses to put on a happy face for mommas that sing in the choir.

Obviously he feels the potential is there and he is up for a challenge.
Obviously an ambitious guy. He turns it around, writes his ticket.

Olivadatti back to the NFL, and CW leaving to go to USC.
Apparently they both wanted the DC job...
That's really too bad... I thought they were good coaches for us, but I can understand their position.

Kirby would have taken the HC job in a heartbeat.
Mac and his bosses did not want to pay the bucks needed to lure Smart as DC.
