Actually I wasn't referring to HCIW.....I was referring to Pruitt "possibly" thinking that if he did a great job at UGA that he may "earn" a "promotion" to the HC when/if CMR retires.

Total speculation but why wouldn't Pruitt think that way?

Average, I agree! That standing ovation form the kids is the most important thing to take from that. Can you imagine in reality a bunch of 18-22 year olds getting ready to meet the new boss? Nervous ? Worried about losing your job? Is this guy mean, laid back, etc."?

Seems to me the last thing kids will do when a new 40 something "boss" walks in is applaud.

We all knew it was a pipe dream that CMR would leave on his own accord or be fired. We all wanted Kirby but we also knew Kirby turned us down before and for whatever reason does not want to come home as a DC. Personally I would like to see how successful he is out from under Saban's wing before him lord and saviour of a program. Muschamp was supposed to be all that and that hasn't worked out real well yet.

Pruitt is a definite step in the right direction. The man has 3 NC rings as a coach. Someone said he was voted recruiter of the year previously. His last defense led the nation - don't mention inferior competition- we gave up 21 to North Texas.

I am the biggest devil's advocate in the world - almost pessimistic- lol, but imho we should all be at least slightly pleased that a huge step up was made. Last week I was prepared to give my left testicle for some kind of improvement.

As far as Richt neutering Grantham, other than the choke sign and yelling at other teams Grantham was the same egomaniac this season that he was his first so I am not sure that was an issue.

I have said before we might never know who is responsible for us going into "not to lose" mode but I hope that will be something that Pruitt can rub off on CMR about.

I am cautiously optimistic and feel a hell of a lot better about next season than I did Monday, despite our HC.

Excellent post. :)

Amen!!! Great post.....I don't despise CMR-I just don't think he can get us to the final game. However, we have 2 of the better coordinators in the game now, and THEY can get us there maybe.

I sat on this board this week and moaned about the slowness after grantham left----but 41 hours after CMR new TG was bolting, the DC who has been part of 3 NC's in a row is our new DC. THOSE ARE FACTS. That is being aggressive.

Just because I wish someone else was our HC doesn't mean I am going to just sit here and bash the man 100% of the time, because part of being the HEAD coach is putting better people than yourself around you. Bobo has proven over the years that although he may not be the best, you can get to the top with his choice in plays; and we KNOW we can get to the top with the DC, he just ran the defense in the NC game to prove it. (Don't want to hear how FSU gave up 231 rushing yards to AU because that was AU's SEASON low--better then Smart and the boys did!

Point 1. Regardless of Who, What, Where, Why, When and How, our defense is better today than it was Sunday morning.

Point 2. Our ST will have more eyeballs on it according to JP.

Point 3. We will be more experienced on defense next year.

Point 4. We will have one of the deeper, more physical running games in the nation in 2014.

Point 5. With Clemson at home, SC without JC and the QB, and AU at home, we CAN get to Atlanta.

If we don't get to Atlanta next year and do something like throw down an 8-4,, it won't matter CMR had a 3 year deal because he will be gone and Smart will be our HC and he would probably keep JP as DC.

Ask Pruitt, I guess.

Below is coming back to mark richt and the offensive side of the football. Of course when you aren't playing, you really don't understand. Backups whether coaching or playing don't get the full pressure of what is going on.

Sign another running back or a wide reciever or another quarterback. We understand that only running backs, quarterbacks and receivers get injured.

Anyone want to go through the offensive line changes from offense to defense, and back again, and back again, under mark richt? Read the article below, speaks to offensive lines. A line that has a National Championship Ring.

Buc, good post on the FSU OL. Stay on us here about our OL-we need to shine a light on its many weaknesses.

That has to be improved.

Would have been nice to have Tunsil here this year--one more we didn't guard enough when we got down to the 9th inning of recruiting.

Tunsil is a very good offensive lineman. Thought we had him. Was told by some in Florida that family had a lot to do with his decision. Lots of rumors, but that can be said about many recruits these days.

Our coaching staff outside of McClendon in South Florida is non-existant. richt is not working nearly as hard as he did when he first arrived in Athens. Has pretty much taken on the way of thinking that grantham did. He will go into a living room, he is not working the way he wants Pruitt and others to work. Really worried about McClendon leaving.

Keep hearing that Auburn wants McClendon, if that happens, not good. Gus Malzahn is like Pruitt, high school then moved up, understands these young men.

We have a very good offensive lineman coming to Athens from Lowndes. Working on the left side with Kublanow, going to be a very good left side. Think that Isaiah Wynn from St. Petersburg will end up playing the center position, might start at guard. Like him a lot.

Going to be a good back and forth between Coach Friend and Coach Pruitt. Coaches will make both sides better facing off with each other. Was needed in Athens for 13 going on 14 years.

richt just needs to keep his position, out of the way and the team will get better. When the time comes he can take the praise.
