This might get me in trouble Goose, it is however the way I feel.
I believe that we have been mislead by those that we are supposed to trust the most.
Catching a kid with his hand in the cookie jar can be expected, handled and move on with one thinking the problem has been corrected. If the child continues to do the same type thing, just a little differently than before, thinking he/she has gotten away with the attempt, then we have a serious problem.
I am also at a point in my life that I concentrate on what those in power do when they feel they have a right to put their hand in the cookie jar without paying a price for their lack of leadership and promised performance.
The cookie jar is full to begin with, that is because you and I work hard, do our civic duties and support activities to not only better our university but to better the young men that participate on our football team. That language can encompass any phase of life, not just football.
When the President of the United States does not shoot straight with me, I have a problem. When our coaches do not shoot straight with me, I have a problem.
It is very difficult for me to "look past" the same "mistakes(?)" made over and over, and be told that the fault lies with others, not my fault.
Becomes very apparent that the hand is still in the cookie jar, in our particular case when discussing grantham $850,000, and all the money he can make with that $850,000 being made available to him through you and I. Then we have a head coach that is either blind to what is going on or is a participant. Think I know the answer to the last sentence.
We, you and I, Joe Fan are living up to our end of the contract. Get mail from the University of Georgia often, every week wanting me to "give more". There comes a point when I say to the University of Georgia, I want more for the amounts that I have sent your way over many years. Can't fool me anymore, I have seen many come and go, and most leave with much more than when they arrived. Something is not right with that picture. I want those involved to live up to their end of the contract. Presently and for a long time that has been the case with Georgia Football. I really don't like finishing second, especially when I am led to believe every February we have reloaded and success is near.
Just like hogs being fattened with corn and all of the things they like, great being a hog . . . . until that day when the trough is no longer filled with corn. That is usually a sign of meeting with your maker. Time to quit filling the trough.
averagedawg had a post couple of days back that was similar to this one, being averagedawg posted it, was a lot shorter getting to the point.
Goose, I don't have to say that I love the University of Georgia that is a given. I also don't like being lied to and that appears to be the case. Thanks for your post.
