As Buc says, the administration at Alabama understand where the money comes from.
Contrary to the erudite pundits, stupid they ain't.

Awesome!!

Have to ask this question AD5.

We had a defensive coordinator when our head coach arrived, VanGorder. Don't believe that our head coach approved of the loud method that VanGorder exhibited. Even though he was effective, and replaced by a quieter Willie. Appears that VanGorder saw some things early on that the rest of us were not aware of.

Now there is some talk about tension between the loud defensive coordinator and quiet head coach in Athens.

sadlerdawg, remind you of some that have crossed your path in the Corps? ;)

Goose, the only team that recruits more talent than UGA year in and year out, in my estimation,is Alabama. Somebody at least once a day on this site reminds us that this talent is misused or not used at all, either thru incompetence or lack of attention. If I were a top recruit these days I would have to think long and hard before going to a school that constantly underacheives and squanders playing time for those who deserve it. Riding the pine for a top athlete is not acceptable especially when they spend the time to practice for a position and then have to watch as someone less talented gets the position due to seniority or favoritism. What is it with this coaching staff that makes it want to play someone til he's too tired to stand up rather than give 'em a breather from time to time? I know that UGA is better than that, and I believe that one or more hard headed coach is going to be shown the door at seasons end.

AllDawgs5 wrote: Buc, sadly I could actually handle the pooch kicks. It is the constant game changing plays that we give up. Blocked punts. We almost lose the ut game because of a blocked punt, only to turnaround a few weeks later, and have the same crap happen against Vandy and it does cost us the game. We drive down the field to tie the game at clemson, to have a bad snap. I can handle directional kicking, maybe a bad punt, or a bad return, every once in a while. What I can't handle is blocked punts, muffed catches, returns for TD's etc. Those are the ones that really pp me off. Especially when they seem to be reoccuring. I am also very curious as to when was the last time that we actually had a designed return? We are lacking in the return game very badly.

Like I have said, it is unfortunate CMR can't be an elite coach. He has many of the qualities needed. He knows one side of the ball very well. His offenses are always pretty dang good. But the fact he doesn't truly realize the importance of special teams amazes me. Same can be said about the defense. Not being able to look yourself in the mirror and admit that you messed up seems to be the quality that he is missing. I think I would have more respect for CMR if he came out and said "Look, I thought I could handle the ST, but I am going to need some outside help" and "I thought CTG was going to be our guy, but I was wrong".

I also firmly believe that we need to find someone like Scott Cochran. I really challenge everyone to looks this guys up. Think someone like that would make a difference? I sure as heck do.

AD5.....man is the word enthusiasm an understatement!!

He looks and reminds me a little of Gruden.....wild eyed and borderline crazy.

Buc, could be right about CMR. I hope not. I believe you have to have someone like Scott Cochran. Again, we talk about coming out flat. Seems to be a constant. Who is on staff now that could even come close to matching this guys intensity everyday? Do we honestly think we are getting the same results out of the weight room that this guy is getting?

As far as Van Gorder, he was a very good defensive coach. Probably still is. Not discrediting the fact that CMR could have a problem with the loud coaches, but Van Gorder wants to be the main man. Has been that where everywhere he has went. Believe Van Gorder and CTG are a lot alike. Very big egos.

On another recruiting front, I love UGA. But because I love them, going to be honest. Our facilities outside of Sanford Stadium are not up to par with the "elite's".
