If CWM is let go by the Gators, does anybody in here wish for UGA to go after CWM as our DC or has that bridge burned down already? For the record, I want a new DC in Athens today & while CWM is not my 1st choice, I'd take him over CTG in a heartbeat...

Goose, you and I are never too far apart when discussing football in Athens.

If Georgia was to hire Muschamp, that would be the last post I would ever make on this or any other board concerning the Red and Black. Yes, you hit a nerve.

Will Muschamp has burned every bridge that would allow him to return to the University of Georgia.

Goose have to ask you this question. If your position in Athens was Athletic Director, would you hire him?

If you say yes, then I would like to know why? What has Will Muschamp done to be considered our Defensive Coordinator? Will go into depth if you like. You asked the question, willing to debate.

Goose, would take most anyone over grantham at this point, and that is what you are suggesting, but not Will Muschamp. Have to say this Goose, you surprised me.

That is why we have an open board, not like the AJC and others, most or many of us feel close to each other. Disagreements come and go, you and I have a difference of opinion on whether or not Will Muschamp would even be considered.

Personally, my feelings toward Will Muschamp fall in line with the way I feel toward Urban Meyer and Steve Spurrier. His language down my way when discussing the University of Georgia will not be taken like a grain or salt.

Guess I got "long" again Goose. My answer is NO.

I hope they keep muschamp honestly. Until we beat florida next year and then he gets fired right after the L, kiffin style.

Perfect way to end that little traitorous POS in my opinion.

2010, an awful lot of talent is heading to Tuscaloosa, again . . . . If they come away with another National Championship, might see Kirby stay for reasons of setting a record that would be very difficult to break. Saban gave Kirby some advice that proved to be right. Muschamp jumped at the Florida job, look where he is at now.

A very good example I think is Chavis coaching at LSU. Could have had other jobs, was offered by UGA, but was content to stay with a very good job and fan base. Everyone is not meant to be a head coach, some that are should not be.

Alabama is going to be incredibly tough next season, and probaby for several seasons to come. Don't think that Nick is going anywhere, not sure that Kirby is either, the more I look at the situation as it exists.

As far as Muschamp, he is in a very deep hole. Will hear chatter from both sides, but I do know this . . . . folks walking the streets that buy football tickets are more than upset. Media is trying to cover this up to a point, but the problem truthfully in Gainesville is that Muschamp was not ready to take a high profile job such as the one in Florida.

Urban Meyer is the culprit of what is happening at Florida now, but Muschamp has not endeared himself to those that have been around for a while when he basically tells them to grow up. With television as strong as it is, can't say things like that to the folks that have to this point treked to Gainesville and did the gator chomp for all of America to see.

Strong should have been the head coach some years back. Some down this way are taking the slack out of Jeremy Foley's rope. Many are still highly po'd about him letting Urban Meyer return after his "first health issue".

Coaching modern day college football is truly hard work. It does pay of for those that work hard and understand the game (Nick Saban). Can also make weaklings out of those that only think they can make the grade.

Agreed muschump took a job he wasn't ready for. Don't think smart would leave bama anyways unless we came calling, he is the heir to sabans throne at bama, but I sure do think he would love to come home. I would think strong would be the obvious choice moving forward for the gaytors. Truth be told I don't care who coaches there as long as we keep kicking their a$$.

Meyer left UF a mess, muschump is left trying to clean it up. Think Derrick Dooley and muschump are in the same boat, and he will leave the same way Dooley did.

Rebuilding process could be a long one for florida with FSU and Miami back on the rise. Recruiting will be interesting around you buc.

I for one would love to see florida suffer for a few years.... I know I'm not the only one that feels that way about that school either :)

I am not a fan of Muschamp period. Comparision to SS, pretty dang accurate in my eyes. Total A##, but the man does know defense, and is very good at recruiting defensive talent. With that being said, hope he stays at uf. Enjoy seeing his disappointed face after losses to the school that "he just played for".

2010, I enjoy the recruiting cycle, especially at the end of the year when decisions have to be made.

Try to discuss it, but truthfully, seems that there is not a lot of conversation on the board. Don't take that wrong. One cannot talk or post about players if they don't have anything to base their feelings on about a particular player or players.

Was said to me a short time back that I have "too much free time" on my hands. The poster that said that was right. I did however earn that right, put my time in, just like AM did, however did not take the same type of bruises that AM did. Did take some bruises.

Coaches that have a "grip" on where the college football game is this day and time have to in my opinion face this . . . . game has changed, they have to bring change to any program that wants to move to the top.

Watched LSU and Texas A&M go at it. Like or dislike Johnny Football, when the game was over, he went to every player on the LSU side and shook hands. That is the way I think football should be played. He is full of pp and vinegar, but the one thing that he does that pulls me in his direction, he loves to play football.

University of Georgia had a very good player at quarterback for several years, did the same thing that Johnny Football did/does . . . . always had time to shake hands after the game, and then go back to work. AM.

Florida media and the world wide media like to hype the fact that Florida lost their starting quarterback early on. Those of us down here in the Sunshine State knew that they were not going anywhere with Jeff Driskel. Not going anywhere means only this. Muschamp put all of his eggs on the defensive side, came back to bite him. PLAYERS DID NOT BUY IN. Will not as long as he is the head coach.

Say it again, Muschamp cannot run a program the size of Florida, still surprised that Jeremy Foley chose Will. Don't for a minute believe that folks are not looking over Jeremy's shoulder.

Whether or not anyone on this board or others understand. Florida is a huge "media state". M&M will not let that get by. Disney will make sure that "tradition is served". While "tradition is being served", Will Muschamp will not be the head football coach at Florida. College football game will end up being played by choice . . . . M&M's choice. It's just a game, right . . . .

Well Buc,

Since you asked, I'll elaborate but briefly as I am technically, "working from home today & tomorrow":

Would I hire Muschamp if I were UGA's AD?

Yes, BUT ONLY if my 1st 6 choices declined (I am NOT including Kirby Smart who would be #1 but he only comes to Athens as the HC not the DC, IMHO; same rule applies to Gary Patterson at TCU):

1) Bud Foster - Va. Tech (Top 10 scoring D nearly every single year since 1997, intense, always recruits & DEVELOPS studs on D, already turned us down once, I don't care, try again I say...Foster CAN also make our Special Teams a strength)

2) Ellis Johnson - Auburn (knows how a real D should play, proven track record in SEC ala Miss. St., USC, & now AU, knows the SEC very well, taking him away Auburn just a bonus treat)

3) Jeremy Pruitt - FSU (coached under Saban for 5 years, has FSU's D firing on all cylinders, familiar with Southern recruiting, young & should relate well with today's HS recruits)

4) Brent Venables - Clemson (young in age, old in experience, 10+ years as DC at big-time programs, learned under Bill Snyder at K. State then later under Bob Stoops at OU, has drastically improved Clemson's D immediately)

5) Derek Mason - Stanford (love the way Stanford plays D: physical, relentless, disciplined...UGA could sorely use all 3 of these traits)

6) Pat Narduzzi - Michigan State (see physical D, gets the most out of his players, has Spartans scoring D in the top 10 for past 2 years, can recruit)

For the record, my statement about taking CWM over CTG was more of an indication of how sick I am of Grantham vs. having any love for Muschamp. Again, I'm ready for CTG to go now & would take Muschamp over him but ONLY if my top 6 above & probably a few others I haven't thought of turned us down first.

Oh, and to answer your other question, I'd say my hatred for CWM isn't as strong as most so I'd have him back regardless of the hard feelings from when he took the Gator job. I could forgive him only because I do think he can recruit & coach a top flight SEC D based on his prior results at Auburn, Texas, & Florida (D only though, since he is not HC material as is becoming delightfully obvious).

From reading the responses to my question, I'd venture to say MOST of us will be happy if Muschamp comes back to Jax. next year only to lose to the Red & Black, AGAIN!
