DAWGtm wrote: I agree I am so tired of excuses. I was curious so I looked at some stats on Bama's D. In the last four years opponents have scores over 20 pts 8 times over 30 pts 1 time now compare that to the great TG defense over 20 pts 29 times over 30 points 18 times. But he has his reasons
Not the right players for my scheme
Still learning the system
Playing me ball and not team ball
And now we are young
Good post DAWGtm.
Those stats don't lie, and the Alabama coaches don't have to hide from what is "not being done".
Next seasons campaign is now moving full speed ahead. Same spit different year DAWGtm. Coaches start getting player friendly . . . . recruiting battles between now and February, start using the same "stuff" that has kept us where we are for far too long.

I wouldn't hold my breath growl, might turn a little blue....keep 911 in speed dial. :woohoo:

Chief growl, it turned out that there was/is a fox in the hen house. The "was" belongs to Willie Martinez. The "is" belongs to todd grantham.
What that does to my way of thinking about Georgia Football is this. Not for a minute do I believe that McGarity chose grantham, does not work that way in Athens. Tells me that mark richt has "struck out twice". This is back to back defensive coordinators that did not belong in a leadership position. We know what happened to Willie when he left Athens. Would not expect to see any difference when/if grantham leaves.
Been said over and over, it has been apparent for quite a long time what needed to be done. McGarity would not have had the conversation with Richt so quickly after returning to Georgia as Athletic Director if all had been well with our football team and coaches.
richt does not meddle in calling defensive schemes, there is a reason for that, and it is now staring him directly in the face . . . . again. richt does not at this point want to release grantham. Doing that only solidifies the point that he made another "hiring mistake". If grantham chose to leave, that would make life much easier for mark richt. richt does not have the "stuff" required to run a program that has the "POTENTIAL" to be all that. He could be a subcontractor, but never a contractor. averagedawg laid that out real well in this thread. richt does not like to be bothered with the "little details", little details like having a coach for special teams. Those little details will get ones butt kicked more often than not.
richt's future is squarely in the hands of McGarity, if we believe in a "pecking order". However I believe the pecking order moves past McGarity. The past President and the sitting President of UGA are in lock step with keeping mark richt in Athens. Past President still hanging around campus.
growl, nothing will change that will have an effect on the present situation in Athens. Still looks like 2017 to me, that means somewhere around 15 to 20 million dollars will flow mark richt's way and we will remain a "middle of the pack" SEC football team. Just My Humble Opinion growl.
