I watched the game over up to the last minute yesterday. My thoughts. Offense looked bad in the first half. They did, but it is hard to establish much rhythm when you don't have the ball. Defense just got truly dominated. Going over all 3 phases of the game, only 1 area was missing. Guess we all know what area that was.

Kept hearing that aub. would make a play on special teams. They didn't. Our special teams were pretty dang good, especially kickoff coverage. Our offense found their rhythm in the 2nd half. Our defense, well.. Just haven't seen a D this bad in awhile. Coaching sure. We are catching instead of attacking. Saw numerous plays where guys are waiting on the play to get to them. Not attacking playing on heals and waiting to make the tackle. 2 problems with that. 1. You are more than likely going to get embarrassed , which we did. 2. You elimnate options for cutting by attacking and closing the gap. Cut down operating space when you attack. We were waiting, hoping to not make a mistake.

That is why it is time for CTG and CMR to hit the road. CTG for instilling that in the defense, and Richt for letting it go on. I watched the USC-Stan game Saturday night. Anyone watch how USC played defense in that game? Yeah, they made some mistakes, but they were flying around playing inspired football. Oregeron is not a good coach, but his guys play fast, very physical, and have fun doing it. We are not doing any of the 3 on that side of the ball.

Bring on Kirby. Also watched bama game. They play similar to usc, but better and more disciplined. They never see a formation or scenario that they haven't been prepared for.

GO DAWGS. Aaron Murray, I can't say enough about you. I walked in the office this morning, which is in Knoxville, and every co-worker commented on how tough and talented you are. You made every viewer not wearing orange and blue a Dawg fan for over 2 hours. Diehard vol fans told me they were jumping up and down when scored the last TD. That is special.

Great post.
Lou Holtz is probably still talking about how Murray can't win the big ones.
Watched the postgame interview with the auburn qb. He talked as if he had made the throw of a lifetime.

averagedawg....I saw that interview as well. Geez, I couldn't even understand the guy, but what I did hear, it sounded like it was a planned play by the WR and himself.

Yeah wlayton, I watched the interview only to see if the coach would acknowledge what a performance Murray put on.
I was sorry to hear no mention of it.
What can you expect from Auburn?
I hope 'Bama beats the hell out of them.

AllDawgs5, good read, much to be said for effort, and I believe that is what Ed Orgeron is getting out of some very talented players. Same thing is going on with Auburn, based on last seasons record compared to this season. The players are ready to hit, run, pass and play the minute the referee blows the whistle. Not unlike track, gun sounds, gotta go. Hesitate and you are playing catchup. Catchup can be played by some teams, never a good way to start. Too often this has happened over the past few years.

Totally agree with your comment below.

They were in maximum protection and we were in basically a five-under three deep type deal,” defensive coordinator Todd Grantham said. “We got hands on it. We’ll just learn from it and move on.” WTF
