If Kirby comes in (and he won't) keeping Bobo would be a huge mistake. Respectfully disagree with you Buc. He will not have an AM to fall back on next year to bail out his vanilla offense.

There is no doubting you are right about Kirby not heading our way. Some say that the Auburn catch was a miracle, Kirby coming to Athens, far surpasses the Auburn catch as a miracle.
We have Kentucky and Tech left, right now we sit at 6-4. Best we can do I guess is 8-4. If we did not have AM this season . . . . wonder what our record would be? Just agreeing with you a little ogredawg.
All or most of us know that there will not be a wholesale change in Athens, we were close enough in the Auburn game to guarantee the return of everyone. LimeyDawg has a good read in another thread about coaches and money.
Guess the long and short of this current "situation" in Athens lies at the feet of McGarity. Soon he will have to say something because the grantham thing is not going to disappear. richt at this point is being treated the same way that Bowden was, upper management is coasting, thinking matters will take care of themselves. Last time I looked, folks in Washington took the same position on health care alternatives . . . . where are they as we speak?
If we could get someone with the upside of Kirby Smart, wholesale change could and would happen. My best guess is that no one on Mahogany Row is interested at this point. This regime simply lives on "excuses" and "next year".
Guess what I am trying to say ogredawg, we might as well "grin and bear it" probably nothing productive will happen coaching wise until the 2017 Season has come and gone. Only problem with that? The Selection Committee, our history does not show promise in that department.

Have tried to keep my mouth closed on this player. Anyone that has been around here for a while knows that two players that I have consistently promoted were AM and RW.
Just another case of a very talented player not being allowed to show and prove his wares. Yes there were several good players at the linebacker position last season, and many times those "stars" were played too long in my opinion. Game time minutes I am referring to.
What really sticks out to me is again the term used often. Coach'em up. I said that for a reason, why . . . . did not see young talent doing anything more than riding the bench. This group of defensive players that reside in Athens have been subjected to nothing less than total incompetence. richt making the remark that Ramik Wilson needed to step it up. Some saying that he would be running second to Reggie Carter. Too bad that Reggie Carter was injured, would love to see him in the same defensive game plan with Ramik Wilson and Herrera riding the pine. Just calling it like I have seen it play out.
Many of us in Central Florida are damn proud of AM and Ramik Wilson. Those that like #84 are going to love another Florida talent . . . . Keyon Brown. Remember I said that. Unstoppable.

We might as well grin and bear a lot of things.
Mainly that we are not a truly elite program. I said it a few weeks ago, and I'll say it again. We have striven to be Alabama or LSU, but we're not. We're a lot more South Carolina/Mizzou than we are anything else. We'll have our 11-2, 10-3 years when scheduling is in our favor and then 9-4, 8-5 when things are off, but I've totally given up hope of anything more than that. We should just hang our hat on that "5 yards away from a chance to at least play for a NC" and sing it loud and clear, because that's about the pinnacle of our program.
Here is the list of programs that have won NC's or at least a share of the NC since we did back in Reagan's inaugural year:
Clemson
Penn St - 2 times
Miami - 5 times
Brigham Young.....
Oklahoma - 2 times
Notre Dame
Colorado
Georgia #*@%@ Tech
Washington
Alabama - 4 times
Florida State - 2 times
Nebraska - 3 times
Florida - 3 times
Michigan
Tennessee
Ohio State
LSU - 2 times
Southern California - 2 times
Texas
Abuuurn
I hope that's everyone... it's a fairly long list, you see.... but McGarrity, MR, the whole program can just beat that drum about how
we were once 5 yards away from at least making the NC game during that span.

The greatest defensive coach in Georgia history was run out of Dodge.
Same mentality exists now.
