I am done with Richt

Another problem I have with the coaching staff.

Every player on the University of Georgia team, outside of the walk ons were recruited by other universities. Tells me that coaches on other campuses see the value in offering these same young men scholarships.

Where does that take me . . . . right back to the beginning of this thread. JMO

Edit:
From the little that I can gather, the coaching staff at UGA will be the same next year.

There is one blog out there playing for the hits/clicks that mentions Grantham being fired. That is the CAPDUDE and his lead ins that draw traffic. I don't read his crap because that is just exactly what it is.

Sorry, distracted myself . . . . Do not see Grantham leaving or being fired. Why? Not Mark Richt's MO. Secondly, Grantham will not leave without having a job, he believes that the game of football needs him. Football would never be the same without him being in the mix. Ego's have ruined more than one football coach. List too long to even think about posting here.

Where does that leave us/UGA?

My guess is that everyone on the staff remains. There will be some coach speak and my money says that the hiring of a Special Teams coach will be addressed. We must remember this however, Mark Richt is a very stubborn man. Not to be associated with his sleeping on the sidelines during game day. I am truthfully sorry, Mark Richt coaches football the same way Bobby Bowden did, especially in his latter stages at FSU.

Going to come out and say it . . . . Mark Richt either does not have the skills to continue as Georgia's head coach or, he has taken on the characteristics of many coaches before him, Richt is lazy. Amazing how the big bucks can change attitudes. So as NC Dawg said, Mark Richt's contract is up in 2017. See if I have this right . . . . 4 years remaining x 3 million (low side) per year = a minimum of 12 million. 12 million on top of what is in the bank now . . . . Surprise me Mark Richt, make me eat my words, and I would. Resign.

Buc , I hope you are wrong but got the feeling you are not. Richt has already said he isn't changing.. read his BS quotes about continue to fight , we got a good bunch of guys, not just good players but good guys we will continue to fight blah blah blah.

Who in their right mind would hire Grantham (NFL or College)? If we some how got lucky and he got offered a job it would be as a line coach and about a third of what he makes now, so he isn't going anywhere voluntarily.

As I mentioned earlier I would never pull for the Dawgs to lose but it looks like our only hope is the games that they do lose they get thrashed and at the least we get rid of Grantham (ala Texas).

36869, a thought that I have had for some time. When Chris Wilson was brought into the fold, seemed curious at first. Over the time he has been on campus, his group, the defensive line has come along faster than any other part of the defense. JMO again.

Have had thoughts that Wilson is there to replace Grantham after his departure. Can't put my hand on it, but I truly believe there is a great difference of opinion within our coaching ranks.

I do believe that Grantham cannot accept or will not accept criticism of any sort. Have yet to see him step up to the plate. Keeps pushing the line about youth and anything else that he can use up time with in his pressers.

This does not let Mark Richt off of the hook. He is the guilty one. He is the head coach. Another reason that we will never win a NC under Richt, he has passed his authority over to those that appear not to have any respect for him. He has done that for a reason. His personality does not allow him to "adjust" to simple problem solving. Did I mention Bobby Bowden? ;)

Mark Richt wants us to believe that he will turn things around with the "supposed" 2014 recruiting class. Same song and dance that has been force fed to us for far too long. Not f'ing acceptable.

Takes me back to the beginning of 2013. Coach speak was at an all time high when using the word "speed". Same applied here, I am guilty as charged. There is not a lack of speed, it is a lack of coaching. If some on the board want to believe the injury aspect that the coaching staff has used, ok.

Something that sticks out in my mind is Mike Bobo saying we have to go back to the table and change the way we play offensive football. Ok with that also. Have not heard Mark Richt or Todd Grantham say anything close to what Mike Bobo said. Like or dislike Mike Bobo, he has come further than the other two in a shorter amount of time. JMO

Folks, I ain't through. Only way I will stop is for Steve to kick my butt off of this board. Much more to be said. May not solve any problems, but sure as hell will point them out. This will not be a closed presser, the type pressers that are common to Mark Richt, facts will be presented.

I read an article yesterday.. had the same BS quotes bd36869 just mentioned... crap about "good guys" as if that
somehow makes a difference. News flash... every program out there has a bunch of "good guys" and a few bad guys as well. MR's team is no different. It has no moral superiority over anyone else, and Alabama, Ga Tech, Clemson, whoever.. all have good guys. Doesn't change results.

A couple of quotes from two different coaches after their teams loss this week. Take from it what you will:

"But to Richt, the mistakes that are happening aren't reflective of a lack of coaching, but execution. He elaborated on that when asked Sunday if he felt the need to examine if there's an overriding thread plaguing the special teams.

“I think again you’ve gotta look at everything in totality," Richt said. "Everybody wants to talk about the things that go wrong. And obviously when things that go wrong, they cost you a position or whatever it is, it’s a huge deal. Or whether you have a special teams coach or don’t have a special teams coach, or whether you have a special teams coordinator or not, you’ve gotta field the punt, you’ve gotta snap the ball, you’ve gotta catch the snap."

That was in reference to Trent Frix snapping the ball high to punter Collin Barber, and Swann not catching the punt. Individual mistakes, not schematic ones, as Richt pointed out.

“I mean,” Richt said, starting to laugh, “What does that have to do with whether you have a special teams coordinator or not. Those are just things you need to execute, the basic fundamentals of it.

Now for the second quote...

"There was a number of reasons why we don't win that game," Miles said of the Tigers' season-crippling, 27-24 upset loss at Ole Miss Saturday. "But in my opinion, IT'S ME. I did not get it across to them. I made the points. I spoke the words, but I need to teach better. I challenge myself that way."

Like I said... take from it what you will...

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Unfortunately, I think we all need to get used to it. I rarely visit other fan sites, but figured I would just to get a feel for what other fans think. The 4 or 5 that I went to made no mention of Richt being at fault or held accountable. There were posts about firing Grantham, beating FU and hiring Muschump as DC after he is fired, how bad injuries are hurting us, and my favorite, how is a 3 way tie for the east broken so we can get to the SECCG.
Looks like all is well in Dawgtown, (except on this site) and richt is a great guy and he'll fix this and we'll get 'em next year.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

I have long criticized Bobo, but I must admit that other than the Vandy game and a series or two each game he is the most improved coach on the staff. However, it does seem players or plays get lost in the game plan. Hicks, Rome,Lynch, even Wooten sometimes. With our running back situation it would be nice to see Hall blocking for Hicks on some of these short yardage situations or as a surprise.

Not sure how much input Richt has on on the play callng (per series ) one way or the other. Best I can remember from Bobo's playing days he wasn't very conservative back then. He enjoyed slinging the ball around. Maybe Richt reels him in?

One thing we also don't know if on some of these 2nd and 3rd and long if Murray is checking down to those plays. Seems to be a lot of signals from him before some of those plays. It may just be a bluff but I am just curious.

Just wondering about how many of Richt's "dream teams" does it take to make a real dream team.
