More Cats coming to town. What now?

Haven't been able to view this board all week I've been so sick about the injuries. Can never remember losing that many top notch players in one season much less one game. Don't think I have been so discouraged since Sturdivant went down before the '08 season.

It's gonna be a tough remainder of the year playing some of our rivals. The week after LSU I sat with some Gator fans and told them flatly we would beat Alabama in the SECCG. They didn't doubt it for a minute and their only response was "I doubt you'll score 40 on the Gators D".

Now for a reality check. We will beat Mizzou by double digits. They have played Murray State, Toledo, Indiana and a Vandy team that is weaker than the one we beat by 30 pts last year.

Mentioned yesterday that I like to read the site/link below.

Reading this latest edition, sounds like what we have posted here in the last day or so. Seem to run pretty much parallel with the site. I do know that they don't copy, have said that. Interesting read.

Check out post #9 in this thread. :)

Buc, that site is broken. Please post what you want people to read here in the forum. Many folks can not follow links at work.

Haven't said much, just been reading. Have some thoughts as always.

Keep reading about the offense. The offense will still be ok, not going to be what it has been. You don't lose this many starters and it not make an impact. Depth is good, but there is a reason these guys were the starters. MM, JSW, MB, Rumph. 4 big-time play makers all expected to make an impact. All 4 gone. TG and KM gone. Really think about that. You tell me another team in the history of football that has lost that type of production, and still been very successful. There have been some, but those teams were successful because of..... DEFENSE. Something we have not seen to this point. We can keep talking ourselves into believing there shouldn't be a drop off on offense, but there is going to be. We lost both RB's that form the best RB duo in the country. We have a great, special QB, that has lost all wideout's that started the first game of the year. Not saying we don't have some talent, but to keep pointing out Bobo, not understanding. How do you not change what your playcalling? Please don't tell me that he should have made sure everyone knew what they were doing. Doesn't work that way anymore. It is the responsibility of the players to learn the system. Coaches aren't baby sitters.

If we are going to have any chance to compete for a championship, our D is going to have to play lights out. We have played 5 games, and we have 1 INTERCEPTION, and that was against NT.

Ogre, not trying to attack you, but to constantly be calling out CMB, doesn't make it seem like you know football. You seem to focus a lot more on him than CTG. Seems there is some sort of personal vendetta or something. If I were going to be calling anyone or anything out, it would be the defense. The coach averaging 40.4 points a game, against the 3 top 10 teams, would probably be the coach I wouldn't be calling out. Just saying. I believe you know football, but pretty clear you can't turn the page on CMB. Don't point out that you have thrown a sentence in at the end of every post about the defense. I have seen them, but seems pretty clear where your issues are.

GO DAWGS, just find a way.

What has happened to our TEs and FBs? Have any of them touched the ball in the last 2 games?

No....well one bad throw to a TE off his fingertips last week.

Yeah, what's up with that? Guess before the injuries, AM was so successful with the WR's the TE's weren't needed as much...bet you will see them this Sat.

Also, when we have a 3rd and 3-4 deep in our territory and desperately need a 1st down, I love that play when AM reverses and rolls to his right with a 5-6 yard throw to the FB....ALWAYS works and high percentage. Plus if it's not there he can run it. Believe he did it in the USC game when we were bottled up inside the 5 and were desperate for a 1st down.
