STEP AWAY FROM THE EDGE, DAWG FANS. I think we're going to be okay. Yeah, it hurts to lose and as this board proves, that brings out the boo-birds glass-half-empty commentary.
I find it interesting that nobody seems to point to the positives from this loss. It's early season, and if you're going to lose, lose early. We had 6 freshmen on D. Everybody knew that, yet it seems everybody was expecting them to play like and experienced unit and handle a damned good Clemson team. For what it's worth, I think they played like champs. In other years, our team would have laid down, but this group didn't quit. They got behind, they scrapped their way back.
Yeah, play calling was a little disappointing, but only because we found something that wasn't working and stuck with it for too many series. When we worked the good stuff, we scored. Yes, the O-line was in trouble most of the night, yet we still put up Madden numbers on offense.
Herrera. Hicks. Gurley. Justin SW...beasts.
I think this game is one we'll improve more from than any this season. Murray's play was solid, although he did hold on to the ball a little long on a few plays. Of course, he wasn't expecting to have the left side of the line collapse and get killed in the process. The kids on D got their first taste of full-speed play. I'm sure they walked off that field better men than when they walked on.
I'm pretty sure the O-line will hate Monday's practice.
