Celebrating a TD....in a loss.

I'm not sure anyone would even believe the week 1 story of UGA if it was written as a book.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

My wife made me go to the movies today to get me outta my funk! We watched "We're the Millers" and that is a very funny movie! I laughed my tail off and I needed it! After the movie was over and we were walking across the parking lot the loss hit me again. I had my wife drop me off at the field (HS field) and I ran some wind sprints and went over the game once again in my head.

Being a QB from the age of 5 all the way through HS and still to this day on our flag football team that goes to Nationals every year in Vegas, I have an idea of how the position is played. I'm no AM nor did I ever play college football but I did play college baseball. My point is that your QB has to be your leader and he has to know how to lead, especially at the level of UGA football.

AM is a great guy but he is a little to passive in my opinion to carry a team to the Elite Level and to win a NC. It's easy to blame Bobo for some of his predictable and vanilla play calling but your QB has to be a playmaker when the game is on the line! He has to be that guy that gets the entire team fired up and behind him, he has to be the smartest player on the field and he has to be the toughest mentally! Again I like AM but he is NOT that guy! Is he a competitor, yes but he does not have the intestiy level that is needed at the QB position at this level. A lot of people look at his stats and think he is great but I look at the big games and well the proof is in the pudding fellows. I've always liked the kid but I've NEVER had much faith in him when the game is on the line.

AM in my opinion is our biggest problem. Is HM any better? Well I don't know but I'm about ready to see... I hate throwing players under the bus but at the same time I believe in accountability! AM held on to the ball to long and it cost us with 3-5 sacks at least (I haven't looked at his stats), a fumble and an easy pick! Not to mention the delay of game and the almost delay of game that CMR saved for him! Way to many mental mistakes for a Senior QB of a very talented team!

AM is our biggest problem and I know that's not a secret, been that case for 5 years now. I'm more than positive that CMR will ride him out but I honestly don't see us winning it all with AM. I hope from the bottom of my heart that he proves me wrong though!!! I still think this team can win it all but I have 0 confidence in AM leading the way. We will see what this kid is really made of come Sat! He said he wanted to come back for one more year to win a MNC. Well kid it's time to put up or shut up, it's time to man up and take the reigns of your team, it's time to make the big plays when they need to be made, it's time to lead like a real leader! The tools are there for AM to succeed but the mental aspect is still missing. I'm hoping and praying that something in his head clicks this week and he figures it out!!!

He gets that passive style/behavior from our real leader, Richt.

Meh, I'm calling crap on a lot of this talk.
AM can play, he just needs support. The first place I'd look for that support is the O line. Those guys almost got him killed most of the night. Man, you'd think he stiffed them with the bill for dinner, or something.
Secondly, Clemson is a good team. Wish we got them later in the year, but there's not doubting that this is as good a Clemson team as they've fielded in some time.
It didn't seem to me that AM was lacking for targets to pass to with the absence of MM. If MM wants to be a jackass and injure himself out of the game, fine. It appears that there were alot of kids stepping up last night. We fell short. It happens. Yes, SCar is coming and they're good, but we've been here before. They're not Clemson, sure. But Georgia is not North Carolina.
BTW, for those of you thinking about giving up on the Dawgs, I hear 50 yard line tickets are going cheap at the North Avenue Trade School. Perhaps that's the Georgia for you.
