Satisfied With 2013 --Time To Coach'em Up!

Buc, if CTG leaves after making a promise "just" to get Davin, it certainly doesn't speak well for him in my book. Like you said, if he made "no comment" etc and left, then fine, think people can understand that.

But to put "your word" on the line and then leave?......believe most people would throw their collective respect cards out the window.

Hope he stays because he's a very good coach but more importantly because of his word.

I feel, like many, that we had a solid recruiting year. The one thing this class will prove IMHO is whether our coaches can teach and coach. Scheme is pretty much irrelevant if you cant block, tackle and cover.

Again IMHO, the 2013 season will be the coaching staffs toughest test yet.

Some are wise and some are otherwise !

36869, you are spot on. Has been said recently on this board, the young men on defense belong to Todd Grantham. He has had a free hand selecting the players he wanted for his attacking style of the 3/4 defense.

I, for one will not accept the two nose guards leaving and point to that for any problems we "might" have this season. Players come and go from all schools. All we have to do is look at the National Champions and what they accomplished after losing almost the entirety of their defense prior to 2012 Season. Someome did some serious coaching in Tuscaloosa, but that coaching started the day the young men reported for duty. Saban's way.

Very true bulldawg36869. I believe this defensive staff better have it together early. With Boyd returning, clemson will have a very good offense. Might be one of those games where we have to lean on Bobo and AM a little to lead us through it. Going to need our offense to be what they should be early next year. No slow starts by them.

Buc, I have heard the name no doubt. If I am not mistaken, he was the top of the ladder at the plant in Columbia.

AllDawgs5, below is an article that you might want to look at. His Father was a "wheel" at the Ford Plant in Hapeville, Georgia. That had a lot to do with Jerry moving in that direction. Jerry was a hell of a halfback, handed the ball to him often. :)

Edit: Both of us played for Al Jeffrey, graduate of the 1946 Georgia Football Team. Unrecognized National Champions. Coach meant a lot to folks like Jerry and myself, always made us reach for more.
