Satisfied With 2013 --Time To Coach'em Up!

Thinking about the upcoming NSD (tomorrow) and the coverage it will get from the media. For the class of 2013, this is the last time many of these young men will get the eyes of the entire football world on them. Of course many or some will go on to greatness, while others will do what some before them have done . . . . Find out that college and especially SEC Football is a bit different than high school.

Over the past couple of weeks have looked closely at what (I) think the Georgia Coaching Staff is doing as far as recruiting.

There has been a lot of drama coming from this years group, more than I have ever seen in previous years. Believe that UGA knew for some time those that would be heading to Athens and have restructured their thinking. Really think that UGA will go really hard and be a huge player in 2014. There are many athletes out there that the coaches and (spies) are aware of, kids that we don’t know that much about at this point.

Looking and reading some of the posts from different sites, leaves the impression that the sky is falling in Athens. I don’t happen to think that is even close to the truth.

Georgia is ready to play serious offensive football this season.

Looking at the defensive side, don’t personally see a lot of holes there. If anything, with the incoming 2013 Class and the talent in Athens, think the 2013 defense will be better than 2012. Had mentioned in an earlier thread that this is Todd Grantham’s defensive football team. I like what I see as far as talent, plenty of that, and excuse me but I don’t think that we have to have 350/360 pound athletes. Quick example of that would be Adams, anyone watching him on tape understands why so many colleges want Montravius to sign.

Alabama continues to get most of what they want, and some of the other SEC schools are making a lot of noise. Tough job this recruiting business these days. In many cases it seems that the players now have the “upper hand” whereas before one word from a particular school or coach and the recruiting was over. Some of that still applies.

Tomorrow will be a fun day for some, others will piss and moan about everything. The final deal is what these teams and new recruits do on the playing field. Remove folks like one writer of the AJC and his misleading headlines and others, then we get the truth. Many of us really care for the game, not after the “clicks” that the “professionals” fight over. Difference between many of the writers for the AJC and many that post here and other places is they as I have said before, wear those press passes. Several really good posters on this site and a couple of others.

Our 2013 Class is VERY GOOD.

Go Dawgs . . . . Coach’em up!

If Tunsil goes to Ole Miss then we blew it with him. We had this young man wrapped up for a year and we blew it. We don't get some talented depth on this O line we are just an injury away from disaster.

ogredawg, wonder just who it is that blew it. Guess the same could be said by other teams that have had players "wrapped up" for a long period, only to see them go elsewhere. Foster, could be one of those.

Alabama thought they had Tray Matthews, Clemson thought they had Robert Nkemdiche, South Carolina thought they had Brendan Langley, happens.

Agree with the offensive line, maybe we get a surprise tomorrow.

Speaking of Tunsil, is it just me or doesn't it throw up a red flag how so many top recruits are suddenly finding Ole Miss so appealing. Said it before I like players that want to be a DAWG not the ones that think they are the BMOC and think things should be handed to them.

Foster has changed his mind more than he changes his underwear. Just saying that we had Tunsil coming to UGA since last year and something had to happen to make him change from UGA to Ole Miss.......Ole Miss Buc Ole Miss......if that ain't blowing it I do not know what is.....losing a talent of that caliber to Ole Miss......sheesh....hope he chooses UGA......still got a shot

Talked with my contact guy and the rumors are Ole Miss offered an "academic scholarship" to his fiance and a scholarship to his brother...."wink, wink".

I believe, what, 4 of the top 10 recruits are going to Ole Miss????....something really shady going on over there.....why would you go there, you aren't going to win there with BAMA, LSU, TAM and Ark in your division.

Also hear CMR and other coaches visited Tunsil after his Ole Miss visit and the whole family had on Ole Miss gear.

Oh, besides Foster, also heard Kamara is also heading to BAMA.
